BLANCHARD WHEREAS, HARNETT County is experiencing tremendous growth in the southwestern portion of the County; and WHEREAS, this growth has created the need for expanded services and resources within this community; and WHEREAS, these needs can best be served through economic development in this community; and WHEREAS, such development not only serves the residents of the community but also generates much needed tax revenues which can be reinvested in the community in the form of new schools and enhanced services such as law enforcement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Harnett County Board of Commissioners does hereby recognize and extend its appreciation to Food Lion and all the individuals and businesses responsible for bringing about the development of the new shopping center located on Highway 87 in Harnett' County. The Board extends its thanks based upon its belief that such a quality development will not only be of great benefit to the community in its own right, but that it will also set the standard for all future developments in the community.
