1996/01/02 RESOLUTION - TINTED WINDOWSNORTH CAROLINA HARNETT COUNTY RESOLUTION TINTED WINDOWS WHEREAS, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners is concerned about the safety and welfare of men and women who serve in the field of law enforcement on the local, state and national level; and WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. Article 54B permits the carrying of concealed weapons effective December 1, 1995, increasing the likelihood that motor vehicles will contain some type of weapon; and WHEREAS, N.C.G.S. 20 -127 regulates the transparency of windows on motor vehicles and the tinted film available for installation on motor vehicle windows in this state. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Harnett County Board of Commissioners that we encourage the North Carolina General Assembly to review their current regulations regarding tinted windows and adopt stronger regulations, if needed, to protect the men and women who serve in the field of law enforcement when approaching vehicles with non - transparent windows. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Commissioners requests that the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles strongly enforce current regulations of N.C.G.S. 20 -127. This the 2nd day of January, 1996.
