Minutes of Reconvened Special Meeting
December 20, 2007
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met for a reconvened session of a special
meeting that was recessed December 14, 2007. The Board met in the Commissioners
Conference Room, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington,
North Carolina.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman
Tim McNeill
Gary House
Commissioner Dan B. Andrews was absent due to illness.
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Jennifer Slusser, Staff Attorney
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Byrd reconvened the meeting at 11:30 a.m.
Commissioner McNeill moved that the Board go into closed session pursuant to North
Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(3) to consider and evaluate with its attorney
current litigation arising from (1) Good Hope Hospital vs. Harnett Health systems, et. al.,
case number 06 DHR 0305 and 06 DHR 0336 and (2) anticipated litigation between
Anderson Creek Partners, LP and Harnett County. Vice Chairman Hill seconded the
motion and it passed unanimously.
Commissioner McNeill moved to come out of closed session. Vice Chairman Hill
seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Commissioner McNeill moved to add an item to the agenda regarding a request from
Lillington ABC Store for waiver of building inspection fees for the construction of a new
store. Commissioner House seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Commissioner McNeill moved for the county to waive the building inspection fees for
the new Lillington ABC Store facility up to $1,600. Commissioner House seconded the
motion and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business, Commissioner McNeill moved to adjourn. Vice
Chairman Hill seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The Harnett County
Board of Commissioners reconvened meeting December 20, 2007 adjourned at 1:40 p.m.
