Dear Mr. Shackle, A soils evaluation was completed on the above referenced property on November 20, 2011. The purpose of the evaluation was to determine the ability of the soils to support a subsurface waste disposal system and repair area. All ratings and determinations were made in accordance with "Laws and Rules for Sewage Treatment and Disposal Systems, 15A NCAC 18A.1900" . The tract was evaluated by auger borings and landscape position. The typical usable soils were a sandy loam over clay to thirty or more inches. The long term acceptance rate will probably be .3 gpd/sgft. Soils were limited by shallow depth to saprolite. A soils map has been provided showing the approximate areas evaluated. The lot appears to contain sufficient area for initial and repair for a four bedroom house (60X60). Systems may be conventional, accepted, alternative, or innovative. Systems may also require the use of a pump, fill, or additional cover. This report does not guarantee or represent approval or issuance as needed by the local health department.
