Dear Mr. Reese,
A soil investigation has been conducted at the above referenced properties, located on the
eastern end of Milepost Drive in the Hectors Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina.
The purpose of the investigation was to determine the ability of each lot to support a subsurface
wastewater dispersal system and repair area for a typical three-bedroom residence. It is our
understanding that individual wastewater systems and public water supplies will be utilized at
this site.
All sewage disposal ratings and determinations were made in accordance with the Rules
for "Wastewater Treatment and Dispersal Systems”, 15A NCAC 18E. This report represents my
professional opinion as a Licensed Soil Scientist but does not guarantee or represent permit
approval for any lot by the Local Health Department. An application for an approved
wastewater system shall be made to the Local Health Department that specifies the proposed
building size and location and the design and location of the septic system to be installed.
Backhoe pits and hand augers were utilized to examine the soils underlying these sites.
The soils shown as suitable for subsurface wastewater dispersal systems were observed to
range from firm sandy clay loams to firm clays to greater than 36 inches and appear adequate to
support long term acceptance rates of 0.25 to 0.4 gal/day/sqft. Suitable saprolite was observed at
28 inches or deeper with textures ranging from friable sandy loams to friable loams in some
areas.
The soils shown as suitable for modified subsurface wastewater dispersal systems were
observed to be firm clays to greater than 30 inches and appear adequate to support long term
acceptance rates of 0.25 to 0.3 gal/day/sqft. Unsuitable saprolite and/or soil wetness conditions
were observed at 27 inches or deeper.
The soils shown as suitable for low profile chamber subsurface wastewater dispersal
systems were observed to range from firm sandy clay loams to firm clays to greater than 21
inches and appear adequate to support long term acceptance rates of 0.25 to 0.3 gal/day/sqft.
Unsuitable saprolite and/or soil wetness conditions were observed at 23 inches or deeper.

The soils shown as suitable for drip dispersal subsurface wastewater dispersal systems
were observed to range from firm sandy clay loams to firm clays to 22 inches and appear
adequate to support long term acceptance rates of 0.1 to 0.15 gal/day/sqft. Unsuitable saprolite
was observed at 14 inches or deeper.
Lots 76 and 77 will utilize offsite septic systems located just east of the lots. A 15-foot-
wide easement provides the access to these areas and each lot has a 10-foot-wide easement going
from the lot to the septic area for future supply lines.
The soils underlying Lots 60 through 132 appear capable of supporting the subsurface
wastewater disposal needs of at least one, three-bedroom residence.
This soil investigation report and map, when provided to the LHD, should allow them to
sign the maps for recordation. I appreciate the opportunity to provide this service and hope to be
