HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-39 ADVANCE METER PROJECT (MIP) - CAPITAL PROJECT ORDINANCE AMENDMENTORDINANCE NO. 2026-39 ADVANCE METER PROJECT (MIP20) CAPITAL PROJECT ORDINANCE AMENDMENT BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina, sitting as the governing board for Harnett County. Section 1. This project consists of the replacement of all existing meters in the HRW inventory. HRW currently has approximately 45,000 manual and drive by read meters in our system. These replacements meters will be "smart meters" and will utilize advanced metering infrastructure technology to all HRW and its customers to monitor their water usage multiple times per day through our website portal to quickly discover leaks, usage changes, etc. This project will allow our meter reading peersonnel to devote their time to customer service and repair issues entirely. Section 2. The remaining residual equity will be transferred back to HRW Capital Reserves. Section S. Copies of this capital project ordinance shall be furnished to the Clerk to the Board, the Budget Director and the Finance Officer for direction in carrying out this project.
