Present: Board Chairman Danny Moody, Secretary fuckie Day, Members: Allison Fenderson, Betsy Mccormick and Russ Ugone Staff: Director Claire Jones, Assistant Director Sarah Rathke and Election Technician Kelly Castleberry Call to Order l. Prayer & Pledge ofAllegiance Mr. Moody called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. Mr. Moody led a moment of reflection and Mr. Day led the Pledge of Allegiance. 2. Public Comment None. 3. Approval of the June 2, 2026 Hanrctt County Board ofElections Regular Meeting Minutes Mr. Day moved to approve the June 2, 2026 minutes, and Mrs. McCormick seconded. The motion carried unanimously. Old Business 4. Update: Ollice Renovations Mrs. Jones provided an update on the progress being made on the office renovation. Mr. Day asked for an update regarding the Ballot on Demand shipment, whereupon, Mrs. Jones noted that the shipment has been received. 5. Update: Electir.tn Worker Recruitment Mr. Ugone provided an update on election worker recruitment efforts 6. Update: Curbside Voting Plan Mrs. Jones presented the curbside plan, which had been updated based on feedback provided by the members at the previous board meeting; whereupon, discussion ensued. Mr. Moody requested that the office purchase specific curbside cone signs. Mrs. Jones detailed the statutory requirement to provide party chairs with a notice ofthe deadline to submit their early voting election worker assistant lists to the board for approval. The board agreed that the appointments would be reviewed at the next regular meeiing on August 4ft. 9. Number of Poll ll/orkers at Individual Voting Sites Mrs. Jones indicated that each voting sight needs about 15 election workers 1o be fully staffed. She explained each station within the polling site and how many individuals are needed at each in order to provide voters with a seamless voting experience and stated that she can provide the board with more details once the office receives worker's availability at a later date. Mr. Moody inquired upon training materials and handouts, whereupon Mrs. Jones indicated that workers will be provided with more materials at training. 10. Rekrence Bookletfor Polling Sites I l. Anderson Creek Fire Station Changes Mr. Moody noted that members ofthe public had inquired on using the bays at Alderson Creek Fire Departmenl instead ofthe classroom. Mrs. Jones staled thal staffhad already discussed the possibility ofusing the bays with the Fire Chiefand determined that it would not be a viable option due to the far proxirnity to the parking lot, the inability to secure the area due 10 fire department staff needing access, a limited area for curbside, traffic concems, and other barriers. Mr. Moody indicated that the budget would be discussed at the next meeting and requested that Mrs. Jones be prepared to provide the board with detailed information. Adjournment Ms- Fenderson made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Mr. Ugone seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Whereupon, the meeting was adjoumed at 7:06 p.m. 7. Update: ChiefJudge and Judges No changes were made regarding the appointment ofChiefJudges and Judges. New Business 8. Notification to Party Chairs of Early Yoting Assistants Mrs. Jones presenled two resource binders that election workers are provided with al the polling sites. She noted that they include step by step checklists for each station, extra materials, notices to voters, and more; whereupon, briefdiscussion ensued.
