Harnett County Greenway Project
CAPITAL PROJECT ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina, sitting as the governing board for
Harnett County.
Section 1. The first phase consists of land and easement acqulstition of the South River Greenway project. This project
will assist in creating a major connection between Raven Rock State Park and Lillington's River Park. The South
River Greenway will be located on an old rail corridor starting at the intersection of South River Road and Jim
Christian Road and will run east toward the Town of Lillington. This trail would facilitate greater connectivity
between the town, other portions of the county, and a state park, remaining consisitent with priorities
identified in the 2021 Harnett County Bicycle. Pedestrian, and Greenway Plan.
Section 2. The following expenditures are hereby appropriated for this project:

Section 4. Copies of this capital project ordinance shall be furnished to the Clerk to the Board, the Budget Officer and the
Finance Officer for direction in carrying out this project.
