RESOLUTION DIRECTING THE CLERK TO INVESTIGATE
A PETITION RECEIVED UNDER G.S. 160A-31
WHEREAS, a petition was received on December 12, 2024 by the Dunn City Council,
requesting annexation of a contiguous area described in said petition located at or near 2801
Arrowhead Road, at the intersection of Arrowhead Road and the Railroad, Dunn, NC, PIN #
1505-97-6372.000, owned the City of Dunn; and
WHEREAS, G.S. 160A-31 provides that the sufficiency of the petition shall be investigated by
the City Clerk before further annexation proceedings may take place; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Dunn, deems it advisable to proceed in response to
this request for annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Dunn that the City
Clerk is hereby directed to investigate the sufficiency of the above described petition and to
certify as soon as possible to the Dunn City Council the result of the investigation.

RESOLUTION TO DESIGNATE A DEPUTY FINANCE OFFICER

WHEREAS, the City of Dunn, North Carolina has a Finance Director to provide
financial and accounting functions for the city which includes, but not
limited to, the approval and signature of official documents related to
city business activities; and,
WHEREAS, it is sometimes necessary for the Finance Director to be absent from
work for an extended period of time; and,
WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina requires that the duties of the Finance
Department can only be carried out by an employee that is designated
by the City Council to have the title of Finance Director/Officer or
Deputy Finance Director/Officer,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the CITY OF DUNN, that
the position of Deputy Finance Director be created and that Alexa Kallesten be assigned
to this position on a temporary basis during the dates of February 11, 2025, through
February 28, 2025.
