Present: Board Chairwoman Allison Fenderson, Secretary Jim Currin, Members: Bill McNutt, Lervis Bell and Director Claire Jones and Assistant Director Shannon Cole Also present: See sign in sheet Ms. Fendcrson called the rneeting to order at 5:00 pm with a moment of silence and Pledge of Allegiance. Public Comment: Danna Vazquez Rebekah Brock Minutes: The Board reviewed the minutes from July 2,2024. Mr. McNutt moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Bell seconded. Approved without dissent. Business: Mrs. Jones introduced the new election staffmernbers: Eric Barclift Election Technician and Kelly Castleberry, Election Specialist. The Board reviewed the Multi-Partisan Assistant Team (MAT) list, attached hereto. Mr. Currin moved to approve and appoint the MAT list. Mr. Bell seconded. Approved witirout dissent. Mrs. Jones shared the results of the election worker survey with the Board. The Board reviewed the calendar of upcoming meetings and outreach events. N,lrs. Jones informed the Board that Election worker appointments will be discussed at the September regular mccting. Mr. McNutt discussed reviewing and updating precinct lines. Mrs. Jones recommended addressing this issue in Jariuary after the Novernber 5, 2024, General election. 'fhe Board agreed to address this topic at their January 7 ,2025, regular meeting. Mr. Currin nroved to go into closed session per GS 143-3 I 8.1 1(a)6 to discuss personnel. Mr. McNutt seconded. Approved without dissent. The Board went into closed session at 5:48 pm. Mr. Currin moved to retum to open session. Mr. Bell seconded. Approved without dissent. The Board retunred to open session at 5:52 pm With no further business to discuss, Mr. McNutt moved to adjoum. Mr Bell seconded. Approved without dissent. The meeting adjourned at 5:53 pm. The next meeting of the Board will be a regular meeting on September 3 at 5:00 pm.
