PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
A. Site: The site is used as a self-storage facility.
B. Surrounding Land Uses: The adjacent land uses consist of single-family
residence to the north, a carwash to the west (separated by Barbecue Church
Rd.), and vacant land to the south and east.
BACKGROUND AND ORDINANCE REQUIREMENTS
• Unified Development Ordinance, Article VII. General Development Standards,
Section 9.0 Buffers and Landscaping:
9.1.8 Required Buffer & Screening Types
In situations where both vegetative screening and fencing are either required or
utilized, the required vegetation shall be planted on the finished side of the fence,
which shall face out.
• The site plan was reviewed and approved by staff with the fence shown along the
perimeter of the property and the landscaping shown as planted on the inside of
the fence. The fence for the property was installed too close to the property line to
allow for the required landscape buffer to be planted on the exterior of the fence.

PROPOSED ALTERNATIVE AND POSSIBLE CONDITIONS
• The applicant is proposing to plant the required landscape buffer inside of the
fenced area along the north, south, and east property lines.
-The landscaping along the front property line will be planted on the exterior of the
fence as required by the UDO.
