Baker <rbaker@harnett.org> Subject: Aloha sign thought Hi Mr Trout….a few of us here were thinking about how we could accommodate Chairman Nicol’s request for a sign to Aloha zoo. The NCDOT regs for such a sign seem to be pretty strict, so I asked “Thoughts on how can we add to/ amend this section to allow for destinations or ‘points of interest’? Specially, https://www.alohasafaripark.com/” Randy had a good idea of amending the sign regs to say…. 10.8.12 Off-Site Directional Sign Setbacks for Religious Facilities Directional signs of less than six (6) square feet and referring only to religious facilities shall be located at least 10 feet from any public right(s)-of-way. 10.8.13 Off-Site Recreational and Cultural Interest Directional Signs. Directional signs of less than six (6) square feet referring to places of recreational and cultural interest that are open to the general public such as sports complexes, river access, wildlife areas, nature preserves, historical sites and museums. Signs must be located a minimum of ten (10) feet from any public right(s)-of-way and are required to obtain written consent of the property owner(s) on which the sign is located. Thoughts?
