10.8 Signs that Do Not Require a Permit
10.8.13 Off-Site Recreational and Cultural interest Signs
Directional signs of less than six (6) square feet and referring to places of recreational and cultural interest that are open to the general public such as sports complexes, river access,
wildlife areas, nature preserves, historic sites and museums. Signs must be located a minimum of ten (10) feet from any public right(s)-of -way and are required to obtain written consent
of the property owner(s) on which the sign is located.
Reason for Requested Change:
To amend Harnett County’s U.D.O. Article VII. Development Design Guidelines, Section 10.8 Signs that Do not Require a Permit, to allow for off-site recreational and cultural interest
directional signs.
Suggested Statement-of-Consistency: (Staff concludes that…)
The requested Text Amendment is compatible with Harnett County regulatory documents, and the benefits outweigh any potential inconvenience or harm to the community. Therefore, it is
recommended that this Text Amendment request be APPROVED.
