Present were Roy Tew, Secretary and Walter Massey, Member. Chairman
Randall was unable to attend.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director, and Tom Warner of the Dunn Daily
Record.
Mr. Tew called the meeting to order at 4:40 p.m.
New Business:
Ms. Toler discussed the Erwin Community Building and the concern by the Area

congregate lunch. Ms. Toler also advised that the elementary school is not suitable as the
gymnasium is not accessible and is unairconditioned. The Board agreed to delay a final
determination until the next meeting.

Judge and Democratic Judge. Without discussion, Mr. Massey moved to approve those
workers. Mr. Tew seconded. Approved without dissent.
Ms. Toler presented the Board with a list of potential poll workers submitted by
the Republican Party. Ms. Toler also advised that the workers were "ranked" in order of
preference by the party chair. Ms. Toler expressed concern that in 8 of the 13 precincts
workers who were ranked at the top of the list to be appointed as Judges had never
worked in a polling place before and that good experienced workers were listed at the
bottom. Mr. Tew advised that he talked to the Republican Party chair who agreed that
the top name listed should be selected as Judge and the remaining workers could be
selected in any order deemed necessary by the Board. Mr. Tew moved to approve the list
submitted. Mr. Massey seconded. Approved without dissent.
