Present were; Board Chair Tony Spears, Secretary Lin Coker, Members: Steve Blackburn, Betsy McCormick and James Currin Also Present were; Director Claire Jones and Deputy Director Claudette Williams Mr. Spears called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Minutes: The Board reviewed the minutes from March 2, 2020. Mr. Currin moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Blackburn seconded. Approved without dissent. Business: The Board reviewed the Absentee list, attached hereto. Thirteen absentee ballots by mail*# were ---� returned. After some discussion, Mr. Coker moved to approve the absentee list. Mrs. McCormick seconded. Approved without dissent. The Board opened the thirteen approved absentee ballots. Afterwards, the Board opened the absentee M 100, verified the M 100 read 163 from last week's meeting and inserted the approved ballots. The Board verified 176 ballots were inserted and the M100 tapes were printed. The Board then closed all the in 100 from the one -stop voting locations, completed the Absentee abstract and redaction sheet for the voter that received the wrong ballot during one -stop. Results will be released at 7:30pm. Mrs. Jones reported to the Board the following Election Day issues she has received so far: • Coats/Grove- Compliant that school camera was near M100 • Neills Creek- Curbside voter drove thru parking spot and bushes. No one injured. • Neills Creek- Election worker went to hospital sick. • Barbecue- SBOE received complaint about electioneers. Confirmed with Chief Judge that electioneers were not being aggressive or intimidating. • Johnsonville- Cones and ropes blocking front entrance. Chief Judge moved them. Mrs. Jones informed the Board that the sample hand -eye count will be conducted Thursday, March 5 at 8:30am at the Board of Elections office. With no further business to discuss, Mr. Currin moved to adjourn. Mr. Blackburn seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 6:37 pm. The next meeting of the Board will be a Provsional/Absentee meeting on March 12, 2020 at 5:00 pm at the County Admin Building.
