REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
JANUARV 5, 2016
4:00 P.M.
Present were Board Members; James Currin, Tony Spears, Joseph Powell and Director Claire
Jones.
Also present: Jean Sivoli, Democratic Chair
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from December 1, 2015. Mr. Powell moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
The Board reviewed the One -Stop plan, attached hereto, setting the hours and locations for early
voting. After some discussion Mr. Spears moved to approve the plan. Mr. Powell seconded.
Approved without dissent.
Mrs. Jones submitted to the Board, a packet prepared by Fairway Outdoor Advertising with price
and location options for advertising the Primary one -stop hours on billboards in Harnett County.
After some discussion the Board felt it would be best if the billboards were utilized for the
General Election. Mrs. Jones stated that she would have the company prepare another packet for
the Board to review.
The Board reviewed the calendar of important dates for the Primary Election. After some
discussion Mrs. Jones pointed out that a few dates that had to be addressed.
Mr. Powell moved to change the February 2, Regular Board meeting to 4:00 pm on
February 9, due to the Board attending the State Board conference on the I" and 2nd in
Durham. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Mr. Spears moved to combined the March 1, Regular and Absentee meeting and to begin
the meeting at 5:00 pm. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent.
Precinct worker training will be scheduled sometime between February 15 and 29. It will
be at the Lillington Community Building.
Mrs. Jones informed the Board that the State Board of Elections are holding ID training meetings
throughout the state. It is being referred to as a "Train the Trainer" event. An email was sent out
from the State regarding a session that will be held on the Campbell Campus January 12, 2016,
but it is not confirmed. The office staff will attend and Precinct Judges will be informed that they
may attend, but it is not required.
With no other business to discuss, Mr. Spears moved to adjourn. Mr. Powell seconded. The
-� meeting was adjourned at 4:52 pm.
The next Board meeting will be its regular meeting on February 9, 2016 at 4:00 pm.

the State Board to consider a proposed Plan using this form, which would be considered at a hearing held by the State Board of Elections in Raleigh. The other County Board
Members) can also submit an alternative proposed Plan for the State Board's consideration.
