REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
MARCH 4, 2014
Present were: Chairman James Currin, Secretary Tony Spears, Member Joseph Powell and
Director Claire Jones.
Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm.
Minutes:
The Board reviewed the minutes from February 4, 2014. Mr. Powell moved to approve the
minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
Business:
Mrs. Jones notified the Board of the State Election Training Dates on March 24 and 25 in Cary.
Mr. Curtin and Mr. Spears confirmed that they wished to attend.
The Board discussed planning for the poll worker training. Mrs. Jones stated the dates would be
March 20, 24, 27 and 31 at the Lillington Community Center from 6:00 pm -9:00 pm. Per the
Board discussion at the last meeting separate trainings will be held for the Judges and Assistants.
Mrs. Jones informed the Board that Ms. Honeycutt in Finance has worked out a way we could
purchase laptops and split the cost by sharing them with the Library. Mrs. Jones confirmed that
the Elections would take priority, but will work closely with the Library to avoid any conflicts.
-� Final approval from the Commissioners is still necessary.
Mrs. Jones forwarded to the Board an approval letter from the Harnett County Schools to use the
Angier Elementary School for One -Stop voting.
The Board reviewed a calendar supplied by Mrs. Jones with important election related dates.
After some discussion Mr. Spears moved to reschedule the April regular meeting and combine it
with the absentee meeting on April 15 at 5:00 pm. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without
dissent. Mr. Powell moved to combine the regular and absentee meeting on May 6 to the 5:00
time. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent.
With no other business to discuss Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The
meeting was adjourned at 4:40 pm.
The next meeting of the Board is a combined regular and absentee meeting on April 15, 2014 at
5:00 pm.
