HomeMy WebLinkAboutHCBOE Board Meeting Minutes- July 1, 2014- Regular MeetingHARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS REGULAR MEETING MINUTES JULY 1, 2014 Present were: Chairman James Currin, Secretary Tony Spears, Member Joseph Powell and Director Claire Jones. Mr. Currin called the meeting to order at 4:00 pm. Minutes: The Board reviewed the minutes from June 3, 2014. Mr. Powell moved to approve the minutes. Mr. Spears seconded. Approved without dissent. Business: The Board reviewed the One -Stop Implementation Plan for the November 4, 2014 General Election. Mrs. Jones stated the hours of operation matched the hours from the Primary to help ease voter confusion. The total number of hours are 151.5 which complies with the State regulation of matching the total hours from the 2010 General Election. Mr. Spears moved to approve the One -Stop Plan. Mr. Powell seconded. Approved without dissent. Mrs. Jones summarized the 2014-2015 budget approved by the Board of Commissioners. The budget was mainly intact from how it was submitted with the exception of the fourth position being removed. Money was still left in to hire temporary help during the election. �.� Filing for Soil and Water ends July 7 at 12:00 noon. Mrs. Jones stated that only one person has filed. The Board reviewed the new county travel policy and Mrs. Jones informed them of the state training to be held the first week in August. All Board members indicated they would be able to attend. Mrs. Jones informed the Board of a request from the State Board of Elections for the voting record of seven voters from the November 2012 election. These voter's names showed up on an interstate crosscheck list. There is no indication that these voters did anything wrong, but the State needed to research the information. With no other business to discuss Mr. Powell moved to adjourn. Mr. Spears seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 4:22 pm.
