Mr. Halstead advised the Board of a suggestion reported in The Daily Record made by the new chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Jim Burgin, to reinstate identical districts for county commission and school board commission elections. Chairman Massey noted that no action on this suggestion would be appropriate until it was made directly to the Board of Elections, and the other board members agreed. Mrs. Taylor suggested that it would be useful to explore the idea of reinstating a polling place at Buies Creek, if a suitable location could be made available without cost to the County. Mrs. Taylor also suggested that Dr. John Roberson, executive assistant to the President of Campbell University, would be a good point of contact for this effort. Mr. Halstead agreed to contact Dr. Roberson prior to the Board's next meeting. Mrs. Taylor noted that she had observed some voters experiencing delays in entering the limited parking available at the Board of Elections headquarters building during early voting on Saturdays, and suggested that a poll worker be assigned for this purpose. If no poll worker was available, Mr. Currin suggested that the Board consider hiring an off -duty police officer for this purpose.
