Present were Chairman Walter Massey, Secretary James Currin and Member Louise Taylor. Also present were various members of the citizenry and Sherre Toler, Director. Chairman Massey called the meeting to order at 11:00 a.m. Minutes: The Board reviewed the minutes from October 11, 2011 and October 18, 2011, 10:30 a.m. Ms. Taylor moved to approve. Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent. Business: The Board reviewed the provisional report submitted by Ms. Toler. There were a total of 34 provisional ballots. According to Ms. Toler, 23 appear to be valid and 11 are not valid. Ms. Taylor moved to reject the 11 ballots as presented. Mr. Currin seconded. Motion approved without dissent. Ms. Taylor moved to approve the 23 provisional ballots as presented. Mr. Currin seconded. Motion approved without dissent. Ms. Toler turned on the M100 and the Board reviewed and signed the zero tape. Ms. Toler ran the approved provisional ballots through the machine. The final tape was prepared, reviewed and signed by the Board. The Abstract was prepared and signed by the Board. The Chairman also signed the certificates of election for the winning candidates. Ms. Toler advised that an absentee meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. today. However, as there are no absentee ballots to consider, the meeting is moot. Ms. Taylor moved to cancel the meeting. Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent. Chairman Massey asked if any members of the public had any comments. Mr. Robinson said he was disappointed in the low turnout. Mr. Barfield indicated he was happy with the additional location of Wayne Avenue Elementary. Ms. Harris said she was happy all candidates conducted themselves professionally and courteously throughout the campaign. The next meeting of the Board will be an absentee meeting on October 25th, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Ms. Taylor moved to adjourn. Mr. Currin seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 a.m. Approved by:
