Business:
Ms. Toler updated the Board on various polling place concerns. One poll worker called in sick. Two poll
workers didn't show up at 6:00 although one arrived at approximately 7:00 a.m. and indicated she overslept.
Western Harnett High School notified us the day before the election that they were resurfacing the old gym and
that voting would have to take place in the new gym. As the phone line is for modeming results is in the old
gym, poll workers would have to roll the machine through the school in order to modem the results at the end of
the day. The Board agreed that they should not do that but simply bring in their card. Ms. Toler advised that
she had directed poll workers move into the conference room at Northwest Harnett Fire Station due to the heat
t the bay area. She also advised that Coats Community Building had no air conditioning but fans had been
purchased until such time as the air could be repaired. Ms. Toler also advised of the problems she and the
deputy director experienced trying to get the key to the Angier Municipal Building. She related previous issues
with that location and town manager. After discussion, the Board directed Ms. Toler to find out when the town
council will be meeting in order to go as a Board to the meeting to discuss these issues. Mr. Currin moved to go
to a meeting of the Angier Town Council. Ms. Taylor seconded. Approved without dissent.
The Board reviewed the mail -in absentee ballots and the absentee poll book. Mr. Currin moved to approve the
absentee ballots. Ms. Taylor seconded. Approved without dissent. The Board signed the absentee ballot poll
list which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference.
The next meeting of the Board will be June 22, 2010 at 5:00 p.m.
