HomeMy WebLinkAboutHCBOE-September 4, 2009-Emergency MeetingHARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS EMERGENCY MEETING MINUTES September 4, 2009 11:30 a.m. Present were Chairman Walter Massey, Secretary James Currin and Member Louise Taylor. Also present was Sherre Toler, Director. Chairman Massey called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m. New Business: Ms. Toler advised the Board that she received a resolution from the Harnett County Board of Commissioners requesting the Board of Elections to conduct a county -wide tax resolution election on November 3, 2009. Mr. Currin moved to conduct the election on that date as requested. Ms. Taylor seconded. Approved without dissent. Ms. Toler advised that she had requested and received approval to consolidate Neills Creek and Lillington precincts for the municipal election. However, that request would need to be rescinded. Ms. Taylor moved to rescind that request. Mr. Currin seconded. Approved without dissent. Ms. Toler advised the she did need to select poll workers for the November election prior to September 22, 2009. Mr. Currin moved to allow Ms. Toler to select "interim" poll workers for the county -wide election. Ms. Taylor seconded. Approved without dissent. The next meeting of the board will be an absentee meeting at 5:00 p.m. on September 15, 2009. Ms. Taylor moved to adjourn. Mr. Currin seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 p.m.
