CANVASS MEETING MINUTES
November 13, 2007
11:00 a.m.
Present were Chairman William Randall, Member Walter Massey and Secretary
Walt Titchener.
Also present was Sherre Toler, Director.
Mr. Randall called the meeting to order at 11:05 a.m.
New Business:
Ms. Toler advised the Board that the hand -eye audit revealed the exact same votes
as the tapes with the exception that one ballot contained a check mark that was originally
counted as an undervote.
Ms. Toler presented the Board with the results of the provisional ballots. A list of
the voters is attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. Mr. Titchener
moved to reject ballots where the individuals were not registered. Mr. Massey seconded.
Approved without dissent.
Ms. Toler advised that there were several ballots that could only be partially cast
as the voters insisted on voting in a town election for which they were not eligible. Ms.
Toler also advised that the remaining ballots were valid. Mr. Massey moved to approve
those ballots. Mr. Titchener seconded. Approved without dissent.
Provisional ballots were fed into the machine and the tapes were printed,
reviewed and signed by the Board. The three partial ballots were added into the totals,
with three votes against the transfer tax and three votes against the sales tax.
The Board also reviewed the write-in ballots.
The IT department prepared the reports and the Board signed the canvass report.
The next meeting of the Board will be on December 4, 2007 at 3 :00 p.m.
Mr. Massey moved to adjourn. Mr. Titchener seconded. The meeting was
adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
