Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
July 28, 2006
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, July 28,
2006, in the conference room, Human Resources Department, 102 East Front Street,
Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Tim McNeill
Walt Titchener
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Lee Anne Nance, Director, Economic Development
Guest: Johnson Tilghman, Chairman
Harnett Forward Together Committee
Vice Chairman Hill led the invocation.
Mr. Emory reported to the Board of the following matters:
- update on Airport grants
- update on jail project
- tax discovery related to doctor offices near Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital
Commissioner McNeill moved that the Board to go into closed session pursuant to North
Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(4) for the purpose of discussing matters relating
to the location or expansion of industry or other business in the county. Commissioner
Titchener seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
Commissioner McNeill moved for the Board to come out of closed session. Vice
Chairman Hill seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.
There being no further business Commissioner McNeill moved to adjourn.
Commissioner Titchener seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The Harnett
County Board of Commissioners special meeting, July 28, 2006, adjourned at 1:30 p.m.
