Minutes of Special Session
April 29, 2014
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Tuesday,April 29, 2014,
in the Commissioners Meeting Room, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street,
Lillington,North Carolina.
Members present: Joe Miller, Chairman
Gary House,Vice Chairman
Jim Burgin, Commissioner
Beatrice B. Hill, Commissioner
Gordon Springle, Commissioner
Staff present: Tommy Burns, Harnett County Manager
Joseph Jeffries,Deputy County Manager
Dwight Snow, County Attorney
Jennifer Slusser, Staff Attorney
Kimberly Honeycutt, Finance Officer
Brian Haney, Public Information Officer
Margaret Regina Wheeler, Clerk to the Board
Chairman Miller called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Commissioner Burgin led the pledge of
allegiance and invocation.
The following meeting agenda was before the Board:
1) Presentation and update on taxes owed,Keith Faulkner
2) Good Hope Hospital,Executive Director of Good Hope Bill Larrison and Board
member Pat Cameron
3) Insurance broker RFP bids,John Rankins and Margie House
4) Bond referendum request from Board of Education
5) Finance Officer's Report
6) County Manager's Report:
-- Regular Meeting Agenda Review
- Various updates
Mr. Burns also had the following members of the Communications Committee present to discuss
the City of Dunn's request: Major Gary McNeill, Sheriff Larry Rollins, Communication

Director Diane Raynor, GIS/E-911 Operations Administrator Clint Williams and Information
Technology staff Walt Temple. Discussions continued.
Commissioner Miller moved to adjourn the meeting at 12:05 pm. Commissioner Burgin
