WHEREAS, the Dunn Middle. School Basketball team set out in their winning season, not only to
represent their team, but to represent their school and the City of Dunn; and
WHEREAS, they were able to achieve an accomplishment, that no one can remember when and if, it
has ever happened before, in the history of Dunn Middle School; and
WHEREAS, with one eighth grader, this young team was able to finish this exciting season, not only
as the Conference Champions, but with all wins and no losses; and
WHEREAS, this team became family on the court with each player selflessly making the team a
priority, not concerned with who gets the credit or glory, but for the overall good of the team.
According to their coach, "they came out and played hard with unselfish motives, which speaks highly
of each young man's character;" and

Caro Shears; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dunn wishes to express our sincere appreciation to Head Coach John Gage
and Assistant Coach Justin Walker, for their time and efforts in teaching these young men fair play,
good sportsmanship, instilling in them a spirit of winning, and for giving them exceptional quality
male role models during their time at Dunn Middle School.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, I, William P. Elmore, Jr., Mayor of Dunn, North
Carolina, and on behalf of the City Council and residents of the City of Dunn, do hereby extend this
expression of our pride in your accomplishments and our appreciation for your exceptional display of
good sportsmanship, motivation, inspired teamwork, and in the excellent way you represented our All -
America City. We congratulate you on a historical winning season, and we have confidence that you
will continue to represent us well. GO GREENWAVES!

Celebrating the 1081hAnniversary of GirlScouts of the VSA
WHEREAS, the year 2020 marks the 108`' Anniversary of Girl Scouts of the USA, as well as the
centennial of the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment, both seminal moments for girls and women in
our nation's history; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouts, the world's premier leadership development organization for girls, has
emphasized public service, civic engagement, and fostering a sense of community in girls for more than
100 years, providing benefits upon the lives of the many girls touched, to last a lifetime; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouts works to champion ambitions, cultivate talents, and develop leadership skills,
with time -tested, research -backed methods and exciting programming, designed to cater to their
individual strengths; and
WHEREAS, Girl Scouts offers girls 21st century programming in science, technology, engineering, and
math (STEM); the outdoors; entrepreneurship; and beyond, helping girls develop invaluable life as well
as leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, the Gold Award Girl Scouts take on projects that have a
measurable and sustainable impact on a community by assessing a need,

designing a solution, completing a project, and inspiring others to sustain it; girl scouts
and
WHEREAS, today, more than 50 million women are Girl Scout alums, and 2.6 million girls and adults
are current members.
NOW THEREFORE BE FP RESOLVED, I, William P. Elmore, Jr., Mayor of Dunn, North Carolina,
and on behalf of the City Council and the residents of the City of Dunn, applaud the Girl Scout
Movement and Girl Scouts —North Carolina Coastal Pines, for providing girls with a safe, inclusive, all -
girl space where they can hone their skills and develop leadership abilities, and I do hereby declare the
second week of March, 2020 to be "Girl Scout Week" in the City of Dunn.

DECLARING CERTAIN PROPERTY OF THE CITY TO BE SURPLUS
AND AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSITION OF SAID PROPERTY
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Dunn, North Carolina, has determined that the City owns

appropriate notice, the date, place and time of the sale to be announced by the City Manager or his
designee.
The City Clerk shall publish at least once and not less than 10 days before the date of the auction: the
dates of the auctions and a copy of this Resolution or a notice summarizing its contents as required by
North Carolina General Statute 160A-270 (b].

Sec. 22-1. - Definitions.
Brewery means a facility for the brewing of alcoholic beverages including beer, ales wine and/or similar
beverages that produces more than 25,000 barrels per year. The facility may include a tasting room,
additional space for consumption on -site with food, and retail space to sell the beverages in sealed
containers directly to patrons on site.
Microbrewery means a facilitv for the brewing of alcoholic beverages, including beer, ales, wine and/or
similar beverages that produces less than 25,000 barrels per year, primarily intended for consumption on
the premises or by sealed containers to be sold directly to the consumer. The facilitV may include a tasting
room additional space for consumption on site with food, and retail space to sell the beverages to patrons
on site. Microbreweries are also referred to as brewpubs, wine bars, and pubs.
DIVISION 6. - C-1 CENTRAL COMMERCIAL DISTRICT
Sec. 22-141. - Principal permitted uses.
The following uses shall be permitted in the C-1 central commercial district

DIVISION 11. -1-10 RESTRICTED INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT
Sec. 22-211. - Principal permitted uses.
The following uses shall be permitted in the 1-10 restricted industrial district:
(1) Warehousing, completely within an enclosed building;
(2) Freight terminal offices and warehouses;
(3) Brewery
(4) Manufacture, assembly, or packaging of products of the following previously prepared
materials: cloth, plastic, paper, leather, precious, and semiprecious metals and stones; wood
products; and of any inorganic type; manufacturing area shall be less than fifteen thousand
(15,000) square feet;
(5) Reserved.
(6) Experimental, film, ortesting laboratories; building operation shall be less than fifteen thousand
(15,000) square feet;
(7) Manufacture or processing of food products and pharmaceuticals, exclusive of the production
of fish or meat products, sauerkraut, vinegar or the like, and exclusive of the rendering or refining
of fats and oils; manufacturing area shall be less than fifteen thousand (15,000) square feet;
(8) Outside storage, provided that in the interest of safety to children and adjacent property, such
storage shall be completely enclosed by a blind fence. Storage shall not be stacked or piled to a
height which is greater than its distance to the nearest property line;
(9) Sale or storage of garden supplies, landscape supplies; retail or wholesale;
(10) Mini -storage; no storage in building setbacks. Outside storage shall consist of only motor
vehicles, recreational vehicles, recreational trailers, heavy equipment; outside storage shall be
completely enclosed by a blind fence;
(11) Public utility uses and governmental uses;
(12) Convenience store/gasoline service stations, provided that no inoperative automobiles shall
be stored on the exterior except in conformity with the requirements for outside storage contained
in subsection (8) of this section;
(13) Wholesale offices and warehouse sales;
(14) Building trades and services; shall conform to subsection (8) of this section;
(15) Processing enterprises not otherwise prohibited in section 22-224; building operation shall be
less than fifteen thousand (15,000) square feet.

PLANNING BOARD on FEBRUARY 25, 2020 at 6:30 P.M. and a PUBLIC HEARING will be held by the
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUNN on MARCH 10, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. in the COURTROOM of the
DUNN MUNICIPAL BUILDING for the purpose of considering the following item:

micro -brewery, and brewpub and the zoning districts in which they will
be a permitted or conditional use.

WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has established a Bicycle
and Pedestrian Planning Grant which provides funding to projects that will result in
comprehensive local bicycle or pedestrian transportation plans; and
WHEREAS, the City of Dunn has decided to apply for funding from the Department of
Transportation to update our current bicycle and pedestrian plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Dunn has approved the application for this
funding and the City Council feels it to be in the best interest of its residents and business
community to fully endorse said project; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Dunn, North
Carolina hereby endorses the pedestrian planning project and if the project is selected,
upon the execution of a municipal reimbursement agreement, will provide all required
support and resources for the duration of the project.
