Minutes of Special Meeting (work session)
May 2, 2008
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, May 2, 2008, in the Commissioners Conference Room, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street,
Lillington, North Carolina.
Members present: Teddy J. Byrd, Chairman
Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Tim McNeill
Gary House
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Joseph Jeffries, Planning Director
Samantha Ficzko, Planner
John Rouse, Health Director
Mr. Jeffries and Ms. Ficzko discussed proposed text amendments to the Manufactured Home Park Ordinance and the Zoning Ordinance. The proposed amendments will be considered at a regular
Board meeting in the near future.
Mr. Rouse noted that temporary food stands will be required to pay a $50.00 fee for each time it sets up. An example would be a hotdog stand at Farmers’ Day. The state requires an inspection
every time and the state set the fee for the inspection.
Mr. Emory led a discussion on or noted the following items:
- Healthy Carolinians lunch is scheduled for Friday, May 16th.
- Ribbon cutting at River Park, Saturday, May 3, at 1:00 p.m.
- Options (such as planting certain trees) for remediation of contamination in ground
wells at the landfills
- Hunting laws
There being no further business, the work session adjourned at 12:45 p.m.
