HomeMy WebLinkAboutUDO Use Table_outdoor storage_Resolution and clean attachHARNETT COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE HARNETT COUNTY UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County adopted the UDO on October 17, 2011 for the purpose of promoting the health, safety, and general welfare of the county residents; and WHEREAS, this ordinance was adopted under authority granted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, particularly G.S. 153A-340; and WHEREAS, the UDO contains provisions for amending said ordinance and those provisions have been followed; and WHEREAS, the Harnett County Planning Board has reviewed the amendment to the article of the UDO as listed below and recommends the adoption of the following amendment. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA that Harnett County Unified Development Ordinance Article V Use Regulations, Section 1.2 Table of Use Types & Regulations and Section 8.0 Industrial Uses shall be amended to read as indicated in the “Attachment”. “Attachment” is filed with the Unified Development Ordinance in the Clerk to the Board’s Office. Duly adopted this 16th day of September, 2019 and effective upon adoption. This is intended as private, personal storage only and not for business purposes. Storage, Self Mini-Warehouse Subject to the following requirements: Maximum building height of 20 feet. A secured fence of at least six (6) feet in height shall surround the perimeter of the storage facility. Adequate lighting shall be provided to illuminate the storage facility. The minimum size streetlight shall be a 175 watt Mercury-vapor (approximately 7,000 lumen class) or its equivalent, spaced at intervals of not more than 300 feet. No outside storage shall be permitted except as provided below. Outdoor storage of boats, vehicles (including motorcycles), recreational vehicles, campers, equipment, materials, etc in designated spaces shall meet the following requirements: If outdoor storage space is proposed the area shall be designated as outdoor storage on the required site plan. Existing facilities expanding to include outdoor storage shall submit a revised site plan showing such, in accordance with the provisions of this Ordinance. Area designated for outdoor storage shall not be visible from adjacent right(s)-of-way and shall install a Type D Buffer along the exterior of the perimeter fencing. If associated with a mini-storage facility that will have enclosed storage buildings, outdoor storage space(s) shall be located at the rear or side of the site. No inoperable vehicles, or other items as listed above, shall be stored on-site unless on a towable trailer with the intent to transport in a timely manner. The storage of hazardous, toxic, or explosive substances shall be prohibited. No business activity sales, service, or repair activities, other than rental of the storage units or spaces, shall be conducted within the storage facilities.
