HomeMy WebLinkAbout090304w HARNETT COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Special Meeting (Workshop) September 3,2004 The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Friday, September 3,2004, in the Personnel conference room, County Administration Building, 102 East Front Street, Lillington, North Carolina. Members present: Beatrice B. Hill, Vice Chairman Dan B. Andrews Walt Titchener Tim McNeill Chairman Teddy 1. Byrd was absent due to military obligations. Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board Vice Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 11:45 a.m. and called on Mr. Emory. Mr. Emory led a discussion of the items listed below and other issues. 1. Voter registration drive to be conducted at high school football games. 2. Report of unlicensed manufactured home parks in Harnett County 3. Sesquicentennial preliminary meeting held. Board will appoint an executive committee. 4. Water and Sewer needs for the Town of Erwin 5. Mr. Emory attended a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) meeting in Pinehurst to discuss Land Use Plan and possible effects to Fort Bragg and Harnett County when other military bases close. 6. Specifications for the proposed new Agriculture Building will go out for bids Sunday, September 12, 2004. 7. Tax office software - Staff had some issues with the new system and vender will work with them until they are satisfied. 8. Mr. Emory and Lee-Harnett Mental Health staff are working on details regarding merger of mental health services with Sandhills Center.
