HomeMy WebLinkAboutRequest to Table2Jay,
At a meeting this morning I was instructed to stop all work on
Revel-Rd and Wildcat-Ln.
I am “on the road again” and I forgot to pass this along to you.
Please adjourn those two sites until I have a chance to formally
withdraw our applications.
Sorry for the delay in responding!
Jim

Staff is getting ready to send notices, etc for the 5/14 meeting, so
we’re just trying to prepare.

Jim,
Below is the Harnett County’s definition for concealed:
Concealed A tower, ancillary structure, or equipment compound
that is not readily identifiable as such, and is designed to be
aesthetically compatible with existing and proposed building(s) and uses
on a site. There are two (2) types of concealed facilities:
A. Antenna Attachments - Antenna Attachments, including
painted antenna and feed lines to match the color of a building or
structure, faux windows, dormers, or other architectural features that
blend with an existing or proposed building or structure
B. Freestanding - Freestanding concealed towers usually
have a secondary, obvious function which may include church steeple,
windmill, bell tower, clock tower, light standard, flagpole with or
without a flag, or tree.
You can find this in Article XIV, Section 4.0 (page 294) at the
link below:

nded%202014%20February.pdf
We understand the smaller profile of a flush mount, but it does
not meet the definition per the county.

Jon

Jonathan and Jay,
I have been asked by Verizon Wireless to be very clear as
to what is meant by “concealed” in Harnett county. I did not see a
written definition in the Harnett County Unified Development Ordinance
for the term “concealed” as it pertains to “Concealed Towers”.
We would like to use “flush mount” antennas as a concealed
tower. These towers would minimize the possible aesthetic impact by
keeping the antennas very close to the pole. I have attached a photo of
a typical “flush mount” antenna for your review.
Would you please confirm that the “flush mount” antenna
will be considered a “concealed” antenna under the Harnett County
unified Development Ordinance?
Thank you,
Jim LaPann
