Subject: Griggs project
Still trying to understand exactly what to do concerning this mornings email. Have not received Mr. Slattum's email yet but feel free to forward it on to put him in the loop. Email seems
to be the easiest way to communicate.
1. Mr. Tyndall contacted Mr. slattum this morning. I believe he communicated what he had already drawn up for us at that time. I'm not sure if that satisfies any of the requirements
set forth in the original email or not? It was a feasibility analysis based on assembly codes so that we could determine if we should go forward. When we received those drawings it
did not seem punitive and we had hoped to continue moving forward with our project.
2. How is the cost of a project determined? I do not believe I have submitted any receipts etc. to Harnett county for cost verification. Is that a estimate by a particular department
or should I just go with that as it stands? ***The costs of permits would be based on the amount your wife gave us in the initial meeting. The cost we were told was around $100,000.00.***
3. I am happy to buy all of the permits necessary to satisfy the inspections department. I would only ask that I come by and gather them/fill them out/pay for them all at one time if
possible as both my wife and I are trying to cooperate with all departments at once while also doing our current jobs. *** Permits cannot be purchased right now until there is approval
from the DRB meeting. If the job gets approved at the DRB meeting and plans are approved then permits can be purchased.***
4. I'm aware that we do not currently meet all of the assembly codes but we are under the advisement that we cannot begin to move forward until after the meeting that takes place in
April. Is that still true? ***yes that is true***If not I would be happy to get the permits required to move forward with the addition of the restrooms so that we can all be done with
this more quickly. I do not exactly know what takes place at the meeting so forgive my ignorance. ***At the meeting there will be members of the county depts. that will be involved
with your job. The site plan has been given to each dept. On the date of the meeting they will discuss what is correct and what you may need to do to get approval for the site plan.
Once it is approved, then you should be able to continue with Environmental Health.***
5. There was a question as to the quantity and types of drawings that would be required. Was that question asked/answered during the communication of Mr. Tyndall/Mr. Slattum? If not
then I would love to know what the requirement is going to be so that I can let Mr. Tyndall get going on that as well. ***I know Ken has spoken with Prentiss Tyndall, but I do not
know the conversation. ***
Thanks to everyone involved for being patient with us and helping us through this process. We are newcomers to navigating the system but I promise we are doing our best.
Loren
