Minutes of Special Meeting (Optional Work Session)
May 1, 2002
The Harnett County Board of Commissioners met in special session on Wednesday, May
1, 2002, in the Harnett County Personnel Office, 19 East Front Street, Lillington, North
Carolina.
Members present: Beatrice Bailey Hill, Vice Chairman
Dan B. Andrews
Walt Titchener
Commissioner Tim McNeill joined the group via telephone.
Staff present: Neil Emory, County Manager
Wm. A. (Tony) Wilder, Assistant County Manager
Kay S. Blanchard, Clerk to the Board
Vice Chairman Hill called the meeting to order at 11:30 a.m.
Neil Emory, County Manager, introduced Tollie Mitchell, Insight Research, Inc., who
presented the results of an employee survey recently conducted by his company. The
survey was mailed to each county employee with a postage -paid envelope to be returned •
directly to Insight Research, Inc. to ensure results were kept anonymous. The purpose of
the survey was to give employees an opportunity to tell what they like about being an
employee of Harnett County, as well as how the County can become a better employer.
Mr. Emory reported on progress of the budget process for the proposed FY 2002-2003
Budget including discussion of medical insurance for County employees.
There being no further business, the Harnett County Board of Commissioners' special
meeting, May 1, 2002, adjourned at 12:30 p.m.
