HomeMy WebLinkAboutDrakes Landing-OuelletteDear Sir or Madam, This letter is in regard to the Agri-Tourism zoning exemption enjoyed by Drake Landing shooting facility. During April of each year I join with 50 or more other vintage shotgun enthusiasts shooting at Drake Landing. We may have traveled from far away state such as Michigan where I reside to attend the Southern Side by Side Championship in Sanford N.C., but we spend our money at Drake Landing and in Harnett County! Personally, for years I would not attend the Southern SxS Championship until I discovered Drake Landing. At Drake Landing, local hotels and restaurants, and necessities such as gasoline and ice for coolers, I spend approximately $800. What is so special about Drake Landing? This establishment represents all that is good in North Carolina culture. The professionalism of the Drake Landing staff is demonstrated in their good manners as they manage and operate the facility. Safety is never a concern. Further, the warm hospitality gives visitors, even a “Yankee” like me, the feeling of being family. It is my sincere intention to return to Drake Landing this fall for sporting clays shooting along with Dove hunting on their grounds. That expedition will cost me $1,000, most of which will contribute to the tax base of Harnett County and the State of North Carolina. I request that the Argi-Tourism zoning exemption be renewed for Drake Landing. Respectfully Requested, Mark Ouellette 70621 Lowe Plank Road Richmond, Michigan 48062
