HomeMy WebLinkAboutDrakes Landing-MartiDear Sir / Madame:
I write to you in support of Drake Landing's request for Harnett County to issue it a conditional use permit for its sport shooting activities. I live in Chesapeake, VA and I shoot sporting
clays at Drake Landing several times a year and have been doing so for years, with some of my local friends in NC. I find them very professional to deal with and, as an avid clay pigeon
shooter, I believe they have a very good and challenging course. In all my visits, I have always seen many people shooting, bringing business to the community. We all have lunch, put
gas in our vehicles or go shopping locally so Drake Landing is likely producing revenue for other Harnett County businesses as well as for itself.
The sporting clays course at Drake Landing is one of the best I have ever shot, is run safely, and provides an important recreational resource to the citizens of North Carolina and visitors
from out of state. I am sure that those people who shoot rifles and pistols at Drake Landing would say same the same thing about the rifle and pistol activities at Drake Landing, even
though I understand this is what most complaints are about. It would be a shame to lose this important recreational outlet due to concerns with the pistol/rifle range alone. Consequently,
I sincerely hope that you will grant Drake Landing's request for a conditional use permit. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like any further comments in support of Drake
Landing.
