MARCH 1st, 1954
The Board of County Commissioners met in regular session on Manday, March lst.,
1954, with all members present.- Also present were the County Attorney -and the
Clerk to Board.
The report of Inez Harrington, Register of Deeds, was approved and ordered
filed.
-The report of Robert B. Morgan, Clerk of Superior Court, was approved and
ordered filed.

Upon motion of Com. Lasater, seconded by °Com, Ingram, petition
approximately 2 miles of street in vicinity of Jernigan's skating
Dunn and Erwin was approved. (petition given to Mr. Jernigan for
Officer, was approved and ordered

Com.: Worth Lee Byrd moved, seconded by Cum, Mangum that County improve
grounds around buildings, pour sidewalks, build retaining walls, plant shrubbery,
paint outside trim of courthouse, putty windows, paint welfare building and do
other work in'accord with recommendation of Finer Carolina committee`, - at total
cost net to exceed 41829.00. Motion carried.

The following road petitions were received and placed on
-1. To take over and maintain the Fire Lane Road leading
road south to Lindley Nursery to the Union._Mathodist Church
approximately 12 miles in Barbecue Twp.
2. That certain road to be built up and made a sand- gravel bed in Upper
Little River township which runs from the Mt. Pisgah road.at the home- of Mrs.
John Harrington tothe Rosser Bridge road at the Womack's cross roads a' distance
if 1 mile.
3. - -To hard0surface that road in Grove and. Black River townships which runs
from Highway #210 at D. R. Youngts pond to-Lloyd Holland's Store and.is known
as the County line road a distance of 3 miles..'
