HomeMy WebLinkAbout08151955456 The Board of Commissioners net in a call session on Monday 7 :00 P.M., with all members present': WHEREAS, Honorable W. Jack Hooks, Solicitor -of the Eleventh Judicial'District has . advised the Board of Commissioners that it is mecessary to have -:a special term of Harnett County Superior Court for -the trial of criminal -cases by reason of the heavy aeoumulation of criminal cases now pending on the docket of said -court and has re quested this Board of County commissioners to join with him in requesting Honorable, M. V. Barnhill to set a special term of- Harnett County Superior Court for. the trial of criminal cases at an early date, and said Board'oi. Commissioners s of the opinion that it is necessary to call such special term. in order to dispose of the heavy acct- mulation of criminal cases without undue delay; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of-Commissioners of Harnett County that Honorable M: V. Barnhill, Chief Justice of the, Supreme Court of North Carolina and he is hereby resepctfully resues.ted to call a special term of Harnett County Superior Court for the trial of Criminal cases at an early date and to assign a Superior Court Judge to hold said'term of court. Upon motion of Commissioner Pate; s'econ'ded by Commissioner Womble the foregoing resolution' was unanimously adopted. Uponmoti.on of Commissioner Pate, seconded by Commissioner Ingrain resolution was unanimously adopted. WHEREAS, Tax Supervisor for Harnett County has advised the Board of County. Commissioners that the tax books containing the tax levy for the year 1955 are now ready for delivery to the tax collector to the end that said tax collector may com- mence the collection of the taxes set forth and contained in said books ;, NOW, THEREFORE „ bb=it tesolved by the Board of Commissioners of- Harnett County as follows: the foliowing 1. That the Tax Supervisor shall and he is hereby ordered and directed to forth- with delivery to the Tax Collector the tax books for Harnett County for the year 1955 2. That the Tax Collector, of Harnett County shall and he is hereby authorized, empowered and commanded to immediately begin the collection of the taxes set forth in the tax- books.. 3. That H. D. Carson, Jr., Harnett County Auditor and collector of prepaid taxes shall and he is hereby/ordered and directed to forthwith furnish to the Harnett County Tax Collector such records of information as shall be necessary to fully disclose to said Tax Collector all prepaid taxes by him collected for the year 1955. NORTH CAROLINA HARNETT COUNTY NOTICE AND ORDER To D. P. Ray, Jr., Harnett County Tax Collector You are hereby authorized, empowered and commanded to collect the taxes set forth in the tax books filed in the office of Harnett County Tax Supervisor and the tax receipts herewith delivered to you in the amounts and from the taxpayers likewise therein .set forth, and such taxes are hereby declared to be a first lien on all real property of the respectvve taxpayers in Harnett County, and this' order shall be a full and sufficient authority to direct, require and enable you to levy upon and sell any real or personal property of such taxpayers, for and on account thereof, in accordance with law.
