Mr. Neill McKay Salmon appeared before the Board of Commissioners and presented
a written request to nave refunded to the M. L. Salmon Heirs taxes paid Harnett
County on two lots located behind the Methodist Cnurch in Block 43 as shown on the
Kelly Map of the 'own of Lillington. Said request was based on the fact that said
lots had been listed to the M. L. Salmon Heirs at a value of $1,000 for several
years when in fact sucn lots were of owned by said heirs, but were listed to them
in error.
Thereupon the following resolution was introduced:
Whereas, it has been m de to appear to the satis ?'action of the Harnett County
Board of Commissioners that certain lots located behind the Methodist Cnurch in
Block 43 according to the Kelly Map of the 'Town of Lillington have been listed for
county tax purposes to the neirs of M. L. Salmon at a value of $1,000 and the taxes
thereon paid by said neirs;
Whereas, said lots were not owned by said heirs, but were in fact formerly owned
by Mrs. Mattie McPherson who listed said lands for taxes and paid the taxes thereon
until she sold said lots to the Lillington Methodist Church; And
Whereas, Neill McKay Salmon nas filed with this Board a written request to have the
taxes paid by the M. L.Salmon Heirs on said lots refunded and this Board is of the
opinion that the sane should be refunded for the years 1954 and 1055 by reason of
the fact that said property was listed to the M. L. Salmon Heirs in error and no
taxes are due on said lots.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BCAHD OF COMMISSIO,ERS OF H : +RNETT COUNTY
That the taxes paid on said lots by the M. L. Salmon Heirs for the years 1954 and
1955 be remitted and refunded to them pursuant to the authority granted in Section
105 -405.1 of the General Statutes of North Carolina, and the Auditor of Harnett
County shall and he is nereby authorized to issue and deliver to Neill McKay Salmon,
attorney for M. L. Salmon Heirs, check covering such refund in the sum which the Tax
r18
Supervisor and Tax Collector of Harnett County shall determine to be the amount

Upon motion of Commissioner Womble, seconded by Commissioner Ingram, the fore-
going resolution was unanimously adopted.
