BOARD OF CONJ!ISSIONEES MET,present
G.K.Grantham,T.A.Harri.ngtonand J.A.Smith.
D.P.WcDonald and F'.H.Turlirgtorn having benn appointed,by the General Asnerb1y of
North Carolina, Commissioners Of Harnett County,for a term commencing on-the 20 day of
• Jany.1907 and endin -r dn,:first monday in Dec. 1908,qualified according to law and was du4y
inducted into office.
The Board being served with a copy of the report of the Grand Jury,the was taken up
with the Supt.of the County Home.
J.H.Filiiams Treas.filed his monthly report same was accepted.
J.B.Lanier Sheriff,tendered. his monthly report same was ordered filed.
C.D.Lanier having accepted the keeping of the Northington ferry at 016.66 per month
tendered his bond in the sum. of ?''500.with H.H.Lanier and M.J.Senter as sureties,same was
unanimously accepted and ordered recorded..
Dr.J.W.Halford,Supt.Health presented hths official report same was accepted and Ordered Re
recorded.
Ordered that G.K.Granthan be and he is hereby appointed a special Committee to act with
the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners in making contract for Steel Bridge across
lower little river.
Ordered by the Board that an election beheld under the rules prescribed by law to enlarge
the stock law terretory as petitioned for,P'.J.McNeill and others,The clerk of this board
to make proper advertisement of said election.T.w.fcNeill and John T.Kelly are appointed
poll holders for such election:and that said election bheld on the 5th day of April 1907
at the Trill of T.B.McLej» d, Cpejj n'r,at which election the question of enlarging the
present stock law territorythose infavor of such enlargement will. vote "For Stock Law"
those opposed will vote "No Stock Law". And in the event that the majority of the votes
are cast for stock law: Then N.J.Tfoheill and J.H.hcNeill are arpointed Fence Commisseionrs.
f..It is further ordered that a new registration of the qualified voters within the the
boundaries of the proposed Stock fence,be made ar required', by law and that f.J.b`cfeill
is appointed registrar for said election.
Ordered that the American develo -erort Company be relieved of "49. in duke township.
Ordered that The American Development Company be relieved of 20V in Grove Township
Ordered that N.I.Reardo.: be relieved of Poll tax for the year 1906.
Ordered that 11.L.Creen be relieved of 11.04 tax in Neills Creek Township.
Ordered that J.T.Bolton be relieved of poll tax on account of blindness.
Ordered that Lillington Supply Co.be relieved of I50.tax on Corporation excess.
Ordered that the American Iron ?, Steel Co. be relieved of "2S.59 tax in Buckhorn.
Ordered that G.G.Lobdeli trustee be relieved of ,59.42 taxes in Buckhor'n Ts.
Ordered that Handy McLean he relieved of poll tax and that he be plced on permanent
roll of releases.
Ordered that John Smith of Averasboro Township be released of "2.17 Special School tax.
Ordered that Frs.Esther cutler be relieved of "4.05 regular and ?.1.50 special School
tax in Averasboro township.
Ordered that Rev.J.?'.Seaberry be relieved of roll tax for 1906.
Ordered that Mag & Annie Buie be allo•-nd "1.each per March.
Ordered that Cleveland Matthews be allowed S. for support he being critically ill.
Ordered that Nat.Bank of Lillington be allowed x16.65 for interest on Jail note No.l.
Ordered that Bank of Harnett be allowed "30. discount on Jail note No.1,for 6 months.
Ordered that J.A.Rogers 3:Co. be allowed "1.30 for medicine furnished County Home.
