Board of county corissioners met for the purpose of settling with the Sheriff present R.G. Taylor Ctm
T.A. Harrington, J.A. Smith, V.H. Turlington, D.P. McDonald, being a full board present,
And a settlement with the Sheriff was made and recorded and the board adjourned till the next
regular meeting.

?. :inits of last meeting read and approvod, and after cancelling all the county vouchers in the hands
of the treacurer,the Conis ionero went through their routino of Business.
The report of J.H. Williams wee read and approvod and ordered filed and recorded.
The bond of N.C. IScNeill cotton weigher for the town of Dunn was receiver _and a copted and ordered
filed and recorded.
A petition for a public road from the town of Coats INC. to the Raleigh. and Averasboro road was
received and ordereed advertised according to law.
Ordered that J.W. Flowero be and is Hereby appointed constable of Black river Township to 1il! out
the unexpired term of Chas Partin resigned.
P. E. Trulovo of Buckhorn 'Township was exempted from Poll tax and Dowd duty }permanently for disability.
J.A. Norris of Averasboro Township was exempted from Poll tax and. i, d duty permently for disability.
B.C. ',Withers of U.L. River Township was permently exempted from poll texand rweid duty for disability.
Ordered that the treasurer he and he is hereby directed to transfer Three Thousand dollars fromthe
special bridge funds Bond issue to the general county funds reimbursing in part the county funds for
cost of Buildin,rand repairing various smaller bridges destroyed or injured by floods of 1909.

Tuesday September 21 1909 Comissioners net in adjourned Ses °ion.
Present T.A. Harrington Chr. Protein J.A. Smith, W.M. Turlin iton, L.P. Medonald.
"R G.F. Pope, being voted for for Comissioner to fill out the unexpired tern of Mr R.G. Taylor,
received all votes cast andr was declared unanimously elected.
J.H. Williams treasurer presented. bond executed by J.H. Ballance, A.L. Newberry, J.C. Cowellz
J.J. "ade, R.G. Taylor, C.F. Pope, # in the sun of Twenty thousand( "' 20.000,) to cover funds
in his Lands de=rived from the sale of bonds, dated January lot 1909. on motion duly seconded
said bond ua,r accepted and ordered. recorded those voting in the affirmitive was T.A. Harrington,
J.A. •zith, 7.H. Turlinrton, and G.P. Mcdonald4 these vot;.nf in the negative none and on motion
duly seconded the following resolution wa,_ adopted:
Be it resolved by the board of County Cori ;inners of the county of Harnett that,Thereas ,since
J.H. Williams ,Treasurer of the county, has heretofore filed his bond as required by law with
the American Bonding Company as surety, which bond has been accepted by this board; and
"heroas, since the filing of said bond there has come intth his hands as treasurer a special fund

protect the county against loss on account of said special fund.

In the matter of the levy of special taxes in special schools disdricts L1and #2 combined
tr Stewarts creek Township it appearing to the Board. that the Board is without authority to
levy said tax for the year 1909 for the ma=son that the result of the election creating said
spe iad tax district was not reported to this board as required. by law until July the 5th 1909
one uu.onLh after the date for the levy of taxos according to law and after Affil all tax lists
of the county had been completed it is therefore ordered by the board that no levy of taxes for
the purpose aforesaid he levied for the year 1009 in said district.
