The matter of road tax and establishment of convict camp for the working of the public roads of
the county ,was left over till next First Monday.
•
In the matter of A.Z. Wood it was referred to J.E. Wilson to dispose of as he saw best.
The following Jurors were drawn for the special term of Court to be held March 18 1912:.

On petition of the citizens of the territoty described below an Election for Special Tax of 20cts
on the 4100 and 60 eta oneach Poll to beheld on Tuesday April 9th 1912 at no expense to the county
with A.L. Baughcom Registear, W.H. Lee and J.A. Gilbert Judges :- Beginning atthe mouth of the pond
braocbi thence-up sais branch to the fork, thence up a little branch known at the Arnold Mill.branch
a up said branch to the old saw mill place, thence as the road goes out by J.A. Gilberts
the-crook of the'road between George Cottons and H.T. Gilberts place , thence to the head of a
branch South of George Cottons house, thence down said - branch to Hectors creek, thence up said
creek to the upper side of J.H. Tutors low grounds, thence up a branch known as Stevensons saw mill
branchto the head, thence as the road goes-to T.V. Sextons place, thence to the head of a branch
West of Sextons house, thence down the branch to *km Mill Creek on the East side of A.Y. Tutor/IV sr
plzaz house thence down said creek to the beginning. The school house site to be at Babtist Grove
Church.
On petition of the citizens of the Territory described below in Grove Township District # 1
an Election was ordered for a special School tax for special School of 30cts on $100 and 90 cts
on each Poll' the Election to be held on Tuesday April 9th 1912 at a suitable place in the district
C.D. Stewart'Registrar and J.F.. Hodges and R.D. Ennis Judges the Elec.tionto be at no expence of the
county:- Beginning at the Henry Norris Bridge on Black -River and up said River about North to the
John Stewart Ford, thence the ridge path about East to the Johnston County line, thence said county
line to the head of Mingo, thence down said stream to the ford near the Britt Ryals old Store
--thence the Smithfeild and Averasboro road to the beginning.

Whereas certain territory of Cumberland County was by act of the General Assembly of 1911 annexed
to the county of Harnett AND WHEREAS, many of the citizens of said territory listed for taxation
for 1911 in Cumberland, AND WHEREAS , The tax abstracts have been surrendered by Cumberland to this
county, IT IS NOW ORDERED, by the board that the assessment and lists f Cumberland be accepted
that the Clerk list said taxes as per said Cumberland and charge said, taxes to the Sheriff and
deliver said lists to the Sheriff for coliettion.

We, the undersigned Geo E. Prince and S.J. Olive having been appointed by the board, of Comissioner
-s of Harnett and Cumberland Counties, for the pur,ose of locateing the line dividing Harnett and
Cumberland counties, as defined in an act of The General Assembly, of North Carolina aaxzzt Entitled
An Act to enlarge the Territory of Harnett county by adding thereto a portion of the County of Cum-
berland, Rattified on the 6th day of March 1911, Did on the 16th day of May 1911, poursaint to former
agreement and appointment Meet on the :ast Bank of Cape Fear River opposite the Mouth of Lowerand
on said day and the Folowing days, May 17t1 l8th,l9th and 22rd, proceed to survey ;locate and mark
said line; the undersigned W.J. Olive, being actually present on the first and last days of said
survey, that is io say on the 16th day of May 1911 and on the22 day of Lay 1911. the line surveyed
and marked by us. is designsted as follows:
Knot
Beginning at stake ail the West end of the Sleeper on the upper side of Lightwood'bridge on the West
bank of Black Mingo, with 4 chops on the West side of said Stake, with a sweet gum pts on the lower
side of Bridge, 23 1/2 links from the stake; and Water oak on the Upper side of bridge 22 lks from
the stake, and-a---dead pine on the lower side of the road on the West side of Bridge, 64 lks from the
stake; and runs North 784 Degrees West 406 chains to a large - chesnut oak on East Bank of Cape Fear
River 95 lks from the edge of low water mark, with the chain held on a level; the said Chesnut Oak
being just below the old bass ferry road on the East Bank of Cape Fear River, opposite the Mouth of
Lower Little Bider; and is chopped as fore and aft tree with four chops on each side. The line is also
marked by a piece of Iron piping on the East side of Said Ches Nut Oak. To continue the line same
course(78j)West)' from said Chesnut oak strikes the mouth of Lower Little River on the West Side of
Cape Fear River,. The line between the two Termini, as above deaignated, is marked by three chops
on side line or elbow trees , and 4 chops on each side of fore and aft trees,
The line runt 30 yards South od the Residence of the William B. Pops place, runs 30 yards Southof .
the Residence of the C.F. Pope place, now owned by J.J. Wade, crossing Black River about 100 yards
below the old flax ford, and crossing the a.C.L. Rail Road59.78 chains South of the 51 mile post and
Crossing the Dunn and Godwin Road, running by L.Tews about 100 yards North of L.Tews Residence on
the Old Godwin place. passing through the South corner og G.R. Heming ways barn shelter, leaving his
residence and barn in Harnett and crossing the Averasboro and Fayettville Road about 40 yards North
of the residence of F.W. Page. the line is also designated as follows: By a piece of Iron Piping
driven in the line on the West side of the following roads on Averasboro and Fayettville road
near F.W. Pages'on Dunn and Godwin Road near L.Tews place and the road leading from Dunn to Rhodes
mill Near C.7. Popes place now owned by J.J. Wade.

stock law territory by petition signed by L.p. Mathews Mrs Laura Sexton McN Mathews and others
was received in the Year 1909 and was•built' without any help from the county except using some of
wire and posts and was maintained during said year without help from the county,

NORTH CAROLINA HARNETT COUNTY)
WHEREAS, V.C. Mathews, has heretofore been appointed as a special co-
mittee representing the county of Harnett ,and J.W. Olive has been appointed as especial comitteee
representing the county of Cumberland for the purpose of adjusting the Indebtness of cumberland
county outstanding on the 1st Day of May 1911, properly chargeable to the county of Harnett under
and by virtue of an act of The General Assembly of 1911, the same being Chapter 581 of the Public
local laws of 1911: And Whereas said two comitteemen,in obedience to their tam respective orders
of appointment and in compliance with said act of the General Assembly, did meet in Fayettville
on February 29th 1912, for the puppose of adjusting said indebtness, and have filed their joint
report,dated February 29th1912 before this board for its consideration and Whereas upon consid-
eration of said report the adjustment therein reported is deemed to be fair, equitable and with
accordance with law.
NOW THEREFORE, It is ordered by the Board of Comissioners of Harnett county, the Comissioners of
Cumberland county Concurring that said report and the adjustment therein made be and the same is,
hereby adopted,ratifiedand approved, and the report/ is hereby ordered to be spread upon the minits
of this board.
