Harrington; Full'board present also E.F. Young attorney. Minits of last meeting read and approved. All road matters before the board was continued untill theist Monday of ?March 1914 except the one known as the Lillington and Raleigh Road a road been in use for 30 or 40 years was ordered to be declared a public road and -raid off and hands placed on the same. for description of said road see minutes of comissioners November 3rd 1913. The Northir_gton Ferry was let for the Month of December to Barney Bethea for the sum of $25.00. The Bond of 1.W. Smith Sheriff one of $10.000 given in excahange for the 'One of $25,000.00 was accepted and ordered recorded. The bond of G.J. Maynard as constable of Lillington Township in the sum of $500 for the term ending 1st monday of December 1914 with A.S. Johnson and J.E. Caveniss as surety was accepted and ordered recor- ded. • To the board of Comissioners of Harnett count , Te, the undersigned free holders, in whose name the reel es estate is listed in the tax list of the / /,fit /t�r� current fiscal year in the Count;; of Harnett con - stuting one fourth of such persons in the proposed special School die trict included within the following boundaries, to -wit; Beginning at the intersection•of the old road and county line road, at Mathew Johnson's residence and runs about East as sais County line "road to the Benson road at Marion Johnson's residence thence in a South Direction as said benson read to•a small branch about 200 or 300 hundred yards South of B.F. Dixons residence, thence down said Branch to Black River, thence up the run of said River to the old road, thence up said road to the beginning. Respectifully petition your Honorable Board for an Election under section4115, School Law•to ascertain the Will of the people within the proposed special school • district, whether there shiatI be levied in said district a special annual tax of not more than 30 cents an one hundred dollars valuation of property and 90 cents on the poll, to supplement the public school fund which may be apportioned to said district bjt the County Board of Education in case such tax is voted. Howington.e Whereas there was levied by the county comissioners a taxknown as the Esat Side Fence Tax for the pur pose of building a Stock Law `Fence, and Whereas it has been decided not to build said fence,but the fence Comissioners having sprint about $300.00 in material for said fence Now Therefore it is upon Motion ordered that the Sheriff be and is hereby authorized to refund to the tax payers of said county upon upon whom this tax was levied ninty (90) per cent :of said taxes and the said Sheriff will be allowed a rebate on the tax books to the amount such refund. Whereas in making up the tax books for the year 1913, the Register of Deeds has charged the corporations with State taxes as has been done heretofore, and whereas the Corporation Comission has notified all Corporations to pay their State taxes direct to the State Treasurer as the law provides Therefore upon motion B.F. Williams duly seconded it is ordered that the Sheriff be and he is hereby instructed to refun any State taxes, which he may have collected from Corporations in this county and he is alai) authorized to deduct from any corporations that have not paid its taxes the State part of said taxes. ?Jhereac the sum of $869.27 was paid over to the county treasurer by the Sheriff in his final Settlement � for 1912 belonging to the Dunn Road District, And Whereas the said Sum should have been paid to the Treasurer of the Dunn Road District ? Now Therefore upon Motion of 71.L. Senter duly seconded it is ordered that the sum of $869.27 be paid to the said Treasurer of the Dunn Road District.
