was ordered.
Notice of Special Election.=
Under and by virtue of authority contained in an not of the General Assembly of
1 Carolina as set out in Chapter 799 of the public local laws of the session of 1913, entitled an act to I
as tee certain townships in Harnett county to issue Bonds for the purpose of investing in the construction
of astral Carolina Rail Road; and whereas more than one third of the qualified voters of Lillington Neill
-1e Greek aid grove townships of Harnett County have petitioned this board for said election as authorized is.

Now Therefpr*,' Nailer is hereby given that an Election will be held in each of he said Townships at the
regular voting preoinets in Lillington 84444e Casek and Grove Townships on the 00 14 th day of July 1914
submitting to the qualified voters of maid Townships the question of issuing bonds in the sum of Twenty five
Thousand Dollars for Back et raid Townships, bearing interest at the rate of five per cent per annum payable
Semi Annually, and to run for a period of twenty years, said Bonds to be of such denomination as the board
of aunty oomissioners deem best, and payable at the treasurers Office of Harnett County or such other
pleikeAasamy be fixed by the board of county coaiseioners of Harnett County within the limit of the law
provided therefor.
At said Election those who 'rein favor of issuing bonds for the purpose of investing in the construction of
the Central Carolina Railroad Through Lillington,NelliaCneek and Grove Townships shall vote a written or pr
-inted Ballot with the words for bond] Issue upon it and those opposed to Issuing bonds shall vote s
witten or printed Ballot with the words against Bond Issue upon it.
It is further resolved by the board of county oomissioners of Harnett County that U.H. Parker be and he is
hereby appointed registrar for Lillington Township, and N.A. Stewart be and is hereby appointed Registrar fo

and that 0.S. Young..be and is hereby appointed registrar for Grove Township, and they are hereby directed in
accordance with the sot herein- before mentioned to make a new registration of all the voters in said Townshi;
desiring to registrar for daid election and . they are further directed to give notice of said election in fuel
respective townships, in accordance with the law govering the election of the members ot'.the general assembly
of North Carolina, as here -in- before mentioned; and those w,ho.registsst are to be deemed qualified voters
for said election.
It is further resolved that N.H. Fauoett anf John Mitchell be and they are hereby appointed judges of said
election in Lillington Township ;;and that A.L..Jehneea and R.B. Crowder be and they are hereby appelftsd
judges-of—Said—Election in-Msills Creek township; and T.T.' Coats and W.H. Turlington be and they are hereby
appointed judges of said election in•gres township.
And the Judges and Registrars, be and they are hereby directed to hold amid Election in their respective
townships and canvass and return the vote Ra cast in-said elections in their respective townships, to the
county comiasioners of hornett county on or before the second day after the election.

.Whereas 026 petition signed by sixty seven qualified voters of Hectors
creek Township, that being more than one fifth of the voters of said township has been this day tiled with-
the board of county oomissioners of Harnett county asking that an election be calledin-accordenee with the
provisions of chapter four hundred-and-twenty seven (427) of the public loom' laws of North Carolina Seas -
ion 1913 for the purpose of passing upon the gdestdon of issuing bonds for the isprovsents of the roads of
said Township in the sus of Ten Thotsand Dollars 010.000.00) And Whereas the Board of Cooisst:0ms fiadtiWL✓%
that the said petition is in regular fors and complies with all of the requirsents of the said - actin -Is- •
Therefore, Resolved, that an election be and the same is hereby *allied to be held at the repair Voting -
place in Hectors Creek Township on Saturday July 18th 1914, for the purpose of presenting to the qualified
voters of said Township the question of issuing bonds, in the sum of Ten Thousand Dollars 410.000.00) tor
the purpose of road improvement as provided by sold chapter 427 of public local lees of Session of 1913 -

Whereas it appears that at a previous meeting of this board that poll holders were appointed ter an eleotion
to be held in Black River Township on the 10th day of Jane 1914 to vote fora bond issue ter the Isprovaent
of the public roads of said township and, whereas, it appears that the poll holders appointed as aforesaid
are both in favor of said bond issue and whereas it appears that there is some dissatistrnotion on the part o
of some of the citizens on the account of the s ^me. Therfore it is ordered on aoceount of .the .things afore
said that the appoi- t-ment --:f J.B. Dupree as poll holder in said Election be and is hereby revoked and inst-

cted to me from the board of county cosissioners dated 6th day of April 1914 summoned a Jury et Good and
lawful men to -wit: D.H. Norden B.F. Stephens, J.B. McDonald, sr Coffin Black and Henry Black to view the groun
and lay out and mark a road leading from the old sail road near H.J. Mononaids and S.A. Davis residence to
the Northington road near Turners Cross Roads or Montioelle over the Sands of S.A. Davis Norman McDonald
heirs W.B. Black Colin Black D.S. McLean N.A.S. McLean Henry Black Annie Sloan B.F. Stephens D.H. Norden
Ernest Brown G.D. Fuquey and others whereupon said Jury met on the 30th day of April. 1914 and after Ming

To the board of county Comiesioners of Harnett County; We the undersigned freeholders, in whose name the
real estate is listed in the tax list of the currant fiscal year in the county of Harnett constituting
one fourth of such persons in the proposed special school district within the following boundaries to -wit;
Beginning at Mouth of Stony Run, thence up Mingo to the mouth of Cypress Branch, thence up said branch to 0
the head, thence to the end of Polly Tarts lane, thence to the head of Surlee Mill Pond, thence down Stony
run to the beginning. Respectfully petition your honorable board for an election under section 4115,
School law to accerrbain the will of the people within the proposed special school district, whether there
shall be levied a special annual tax of not more than 30 cents on the one hundred dollars valuation of
property and 90 cents on the poll, to supplement the public school fund which may be apportioned to said

To the board of county ooaissioners of Harnett county;
We, the undersigned free holders in the county of
Harnett constituting one fourth of the free holders in the proposed special school district included
within the following boundaries to- wit:Beginning at or near Wiley Codeine in the line of No 10 School
District, thence said line to the Goldeboeo? and Bass Ferry road, thence said road to big Stony run thence
down big stony rum to Mingo thence down Mingo to the line of Jo to School district thence the line of No
10 school district to the beginning, the same being 4 -part of the original school district no 11 Averasborl
Township known as the enterprise school district the same to be and constitute apart of No 10 public
school district.
Respectifully petition your honorable board for an Election to acoertain the will of the
people within the proposed special school district whether there shall be levied in said District a special
