` D.H,Senter was appointed to meet with the County Treasurer,N.T,Pattersen,on April 10th.
1916,and receive and cancel the County Vouchers paid by Treasurer.
The following Petition for a Special School Tax Election was received:
" To the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County:
We,the undersigned freeho]ders,in whose names the real estate is listed in the
tax -lists of the current fiscal year in the County of Harnett,constituting one- fourth of such
persons in th e proposed special School District included within the following boundaries,to -wit:
Beginning at th< mouth of Rumpus Creek and runnirj up said Creek to the mouth of Tar -kiln,
Branch,thence up said Branch as it meanders to G.E.Prince's line; thence with said line in an
Easterly direction to Tom Hamilton's line; thence with said lizie;iti an Easterly direction to
J.H,Pope's line; thence straight across J.H.Pope s land to the old Taylor's Ford; thence down
Black River ac it meanders to tale Cumberland and - Harnett County line;thence with said line to
Cape Fear River; thence up said River to the beginning.
Rosner ±fully petition your Honorable Board for an Election under Section 4115,Schotl
Law,to• ascertain the will of the people within the proposed special School District,whetherthere
shall be levied in said District a special annual tax of not more than 30 cents on the Ogre Hundred
Dollars valuation of property,and 90 cents on the poll,to supplement the public School Fend which
may be apportioned to said district by the County Board of Education iii case such special tax
