The Board set in regular session June 4th 1917Present J.D. Barnes Che J.C. Byrd, R.T. Jehnsen,D.P. Ray,
and R.A. Oberby, Chas Ross atty.
Ordered that Mr John 8. Smith be taken to the county% home for the period of two months.
Ordered that J.E. Holmes be allowed to redeem lot given in by J.L. Helder by paying taxes and also
$1.20 cost.
H.T. Spears filed his resignation as road C•aissioner of Lillingten Township was received and accepted.
Ordered that J.W. Halfert take Tank Reties to Hospital for treatment and be allowed as much as $20, for
expense.
Ordered that J.D. Johnsen handle the Cans and deliver the same also ordered that J.C. Byrd see mr
Johnson and make arrangaents for same.
Ordered =thi4 Harry Cgapbell and wife be allowed $7,50 per quarter.
Ordered that the public road from Cates Store be allowed and Sheriff summon Jury and lay off same.

Harnett Ceetituting one fourth of the free holders in the proposed special school dostrict inoluded
within the following Boundaries to -wit
Beginning at the Hunt Landing on Little river and thence with the
public read to the bridge on Andersons Creek, and then up said oreek to Nathans Blanks fort and then
down the McNeill Read to Little river and then down Little river to the beginning Andersans Creek
Township School District 14 2 Respeotifully petition your Honorable board for an Election to Ascertain
the will of the people in the proposed special Schooldistrdit whether there shall be levied in said
District a special annual tax of net mere than 25 ots en the one hundred dollars valuation and 75 cts
on the poll to supplement the public,Soheol funds which may be apportioned to said district by the °sun

Harnett constituting one fourth of the free holders in the proposed special school district in eluded
within the following boundaries Tewit:
Beginning at Coats District line near E.E. Williams and runs
North !rest to the Penny District line thorntons creek thence down said creek to the W.B. illoKays old.
mill place on the Dunn and Lillingten Road thence South East with said road to the Jim Hodges old place
Thence with the Parker district line to Reuben Averys land line thence East to W.G. Turners land line
thence with the Coats School tlstrice line to the beginning forming District No 4 Greve Township.
Respectfully petition your honorable board for an Election to ascertain the will of the people within
the proposed special school district whethet thwre shall be levied in said district a special annual tax
of not more than 15cts en the one hundred dollars valuation of property and 45 eta on the poll to
supplement the public sohool funds which may be apportuoned to said district by the county beard of
education in case such special tax is voted, Said Election to be held July 7th 1917 A.D. Williams to

also J.C.Clifford atty,inthe absence of Chas Ross.
Moved and second that the board reconsider theTax levy in Lillington road district and that 45 cts on
property and I.35 oapolls,
Also the amount be changed in Barbecue township to 331/3 onproperty and $I.00 onpoll,
Orderd that•the County Auditor make proper entry inDunn school dist, no, 7 & IO charged to Dunn graded
school,
also orderd that E.J.Stephens be appointed as road commissioner in Lillington township in H.T.Spears,
place who resigned some time ago,
Also ordered t»at N & 8 R R Co have priviledge_of building siding to Fuquay Brick rill through the Co-
unty Land,
Orderd that special election be held in Grove Township No,I on August 4th,1917, and that C.L.Bailey,
be appointed Registrar and W.T,Rodges and R.D.Ennis as poll holders, Petition as follows,

Beginning at C.L. Baileys, on county line, thence down
said line to J.W. Suggs, and B.O. leasers, on-Smithfeilt and Averaeboro road, to Black River Bridge
Thence up said river to the bridge on Smithfeild and Lillington road, Up Parietal branch to the beginning
comprising the territory known as District ne one of Greve Township.
Respectfully petition your honorable beard for-an Election to ascertain the will of the people within
the props& special school district whether there shall be levied in said District a speoial anneal

road from tttaaili[n Cates Store to Canadys Garrote on the land of Erwin Cotten Mills R.C. Cates
7.7. Way, T.Y. McKay, J.R. Turlington, and H:V. Moulton. R.C. Cass W.E. Turlington, H.V. Moulton
amd T.7. McKay met at Cates store one end of said road en the 13•th day of June 1917 after beibg duly
sworn proceeded to lay off said road in accordance with the orders of the board of county oomissioners
and find no damage to the land of the owners

To the board of County Coaissioners We, the Jurors summoned to lay out a road from
W.H. Turlingtons to near L.L. Turlingtons, over the lands of Stewart Turlington W.H. Turlington, and
L.L. Turlington and wife, met -at W.E. Turlingtons one end of said road on the 13 th day of June 1917
and after being sworn by W.H. Turlington proceeded to lay off said road is accordance with the order of
the board ,7e find no damage to the land of the owners. said read to be on the line, -
