At A regular meetirg of the county Commissioners ofH_arnett @ounty held of the 5th day of
August, 1018, there being present J.D. Barnes, Chmn, J.C.'Fyrd, R.T. Johnson, and P.P Ray,
this corstitutino the entire board there lresented at this meeting a report of the election it
Olivia. High School District, which election was ordered by this poard on Rune 3rd. 1918 it which
order H.C. Cameron was a Pointed registrar and J.A. Page and Jas Yeller, Poll Holges, ar•d the said
Registrar and Poll hclde:•s having filed their report and alonf .,with it the poll books ar:d registra-
tion books and toe aame having been canvassed by thde Board as required by law, and the said Board 1f
finding as follows:-
Number of Voters registered 36
Number of votes cast for school house bonds 23
Number of votes cast against the school house bonds 5
Number cf registered votes not voting 5
Numbed of votes challenged and sustained 3
The Board having Paund there was 33 qualified voters registered and that there were 23 votes
cast,for the school house bonds and five against school house bonds and five not voting, the Board
finds as a fact that the said election was carried for the school house bonds by a majority of 13,
le it therefore resolded by the Board of County Commissioners that the election held in Oli-
via High School District is tarred for school house bonds by a majority of 13.
Be it further resolded that the said election was held in accordance with the law and the
same was duly reported as required'by law, and the said $7,500.00 of bonds, which question was sub-
mitted to the voters, was carredF.esid the saipe is in all respects and in mcordance with law, the
legal and binding x mt obligation of the said school district when issued as required by law.

The foregoing resolution was introduced by J.C. Byrd, seconded by R.T. Johnson, and carried
unamiously.

aFAYETTE RQAD.
Whereas, the several Road Commissioners and citizens of Neill's Creek, Hector's Creek, Lill -
ington and Stewart's Creek Townships organized ps have or themselves into•the LaFayette Road Association
for the purpose of establishing a highway through these several townships in conjunction with the
Counties of Wake and Cumberland to constitute a through line from Raleigh to Fayetteville; and whereas,
these several townships have signed and filed with the County Comaissioners guarantees covering all
the expense to be incurred by the.County of ?Iarnett on account of said Highway.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it reaolved: 1
1- That we hereby adopt for the name of said Highway " LaFavette Road ".
2- That we designate as a point of entering into the County of Harnett of said road from e
Raleigh the point where the public road between Chalybeate Springs and Fuquay Springs riow cross the
Wake and Harnett County lines; that the said -cad shall pass through the county seat and en -ter the
County of Cumberland at the Steel bridge at Linden and shall be located between these several pcints
by the Engineer selected and designated by the State Highway Commission.
3- That we hereby authorize payment to the State Highway Cormiiission of the sum of $1,000.00
immediately fro;n the funds provided by the LaFayette Road Association, to guarantee the cost of
surveying, plotting and liroperly presenting the said road to the Federal Aid Authorities'to secure
the Federal Aid contemplated in the building of said road.
4- That we hereby pledge.to the State Highway Comrission the sum of $10,000.00 to be used
jointly with a like sum to be provided from the '?ederal Aid in the construction of the said road
through the Count.r of Harnett.
5- That we hereby pledge.ourselves upon completion of said road to render the care and mzixkaiut
maintenance of the same to the State Hi- - -hwav Commission.
The above resolutionsbeing offered by Mr.J.C.Byrd and seconded by Mr. R.T.Johnson were
unamiously adopted.

Wake and Harnett County lines; that the said -cad shall pass through the county seat and en -ter the
County of Cumberland at the Steel bridge at Linden and shall be located between these several pcints
by the Engineer selected and designated by the State Highway Commission.
3- That we hereby authorize payment to the State Highway Cormiiission of the sum of $1,000.00
immediately fro;n the funds provided by the LaFayette Road Association, to guarantee the cost of
surveying, plotting and liroperly presenting the said road to the Federal Aid Authorities'to secure
the Federal Aid contemplated in the building of said road.
4- That we hereby pledge.to the State Highway Comrission the sum of $10,000.00 to be used
jointly with a like sum to be provided from the '?ederal Aid in the construction of the said road
through the Count.r of Harnett.
5- That we hereby pledge.ourselves upon completion of said road to render the care and mzixkaiut
maintenance of the same to the State Hi- - -hwav Commission.
The above resolutionsbeing offered by Mr.J.C.Byrd and seconded by Mr. R.T.Johnson were
unamiously adopted.
