Ordered that Linda J. Cameron be allowed $12.00 per month, beginning to -day. Also ordered

In a Joint Yeeting of the Board of Education an dCounty Commissioners it was resolved that
$1250.00 be approperated by each bdiard for the employment of Supt. of Public Welfare of the.
county, and that the Chmn, of Board of Commissioners and Chmn, of Board of Eduction and County
Supt. be appointed a Committee to select and recommend to the Joint Board a suitible person
to fill said Office.

A RESOLUTION OF THfi BOARD OF C0199ISSIONERS OF HARNETT COUNTY:::
WHEREAS, a petition of J. W. Thornton, I. F. Hicks, and others, qualified voters of Averas-
boro Township have ClUdfaeiletition under the provisions of Chapter 427, Public Local Laws -of
1913, and of Statutes ame-datory thereof and supplementary thereto, praying that an election be
called in said Township submitting to the qualified voters of Averasboro Township the question
of issuing $50,000.00 in bonds of s id Township, for the purpose of i #proving the public Sam=
roads of *Redd township;:

the requisite number of the qualified voters of said Township required under said Statutes have
joined in said petition, and that said petition complies in every respect with said Statutes::

election be and the same is hereby called to be held in Averasboro Township, the same to be ].ell

the "2nd day of July, 1919, under the provisions of said Statutes, to ascertain the will of the
qualified voters of said Township unpon the question of issuing $50,000.00 in Bonds of said Town-
ship for the purpose of improving the roads of said Township and of levying and collecting a'spe-
cial tax on all persons and subjects of taxation in said Township for the purpose of paying the
principal and interest on said Bonds as the same shall mature, and for the purpose of working
the roads of said Township under the provision of said Statutes,at which election those qualified
voters favoring the issuing ;f said bonds and the levying of Said special tax may vote a ballot
containing the words "FOR RAOD BONDS", and those qualified voters opposing the same may vote a
ballot containing the words "AGAINST ROAD BONDS "l
RFSOLV_RD FURTHER, That an entirely new registration of the qualified voters of said Town-
ship for said special election be and'the same is hereby ordered.
RESOLVED FURTHER; That H.A..,Farker be and he is hereby appointed Registrar for daid election
and S. W. Jackson and Charles Thornton be and they are hereby appointed Pollholders for daid elect-
ion to be held on July 22, 1919.

A RESOLUTION OF 711E BOARD OF THE COU12Y 00MMIS9IONERS HARNET1hi;0UNTY,
Uheras the erection and construction of perm&ner. bridges across certain strams in the,County
of Harnett,State of North Carolina, connecting and foim:ng a part of the public roads of said County
has been ascertained and found by this board to be a public necessity. And Whereas, the County of ii
Harnett has not sufficient funds in its Treasury with which to defray the expense of erecting said
bridges and is necessary to borrow Thirty Thousand ($'0,000.00) Dollars with which to build said
needed bridges.
Now Therefore, Resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of R,arnett'County in regular sess-
ion that this Hoard bowaow upon its promisary note or notes, payable two years after date Thirty Thou-
sand ( #30,000.00) Dollars. Said notes to be payable to the Chase National Bank in the city of New
York, and blaring interest from ate at a'rate not exceeding six per cent payable either annually or
semi - annually amt as theCahirman c. this Board may designate and dnmorporat in said note or notes.
Such note or notes to be payable to bearer unless otherwise designated in the face of said note.
Resolved further bya said Board that such note or notes shall be executed in the corporate name
of the Board of County Commissioners of Harnett County, N.C. by the Chairman of this Board, attested
by its clerk, and sealed with its seal.
Resolved further that the Chtrman of this Board is autho rized to carry into effect this reso-
lution and to cause such promisory notes to be negotiated and to wegepit for all money recoived an
account of the same and to Cause such money to be placed into the hands of the Depository of the
County, the same to be held 'as a i >.racail fund as hereinbefore set forth.
Resolved further by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County that all taxes leveled or to be
levied in the County of Harriett not otherwise especially appropriated by law or hereby appropriated
for the payment and redemption of said not or notes when dae.'
Resolved further by'taid Board of Commissioners that if the regular and general taxes levied by
this Board shall be induffidient to redeem and pay said note or notes when due then this Board does
hereby pledge that it will take application to the General Asspab]y of North Carolina for authority,
if it has rio such authority 'under the general laws, to issue bonds of slid county for the purpose of
retiring said note or noted and all interest due thereon as the same shall become due.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County at its regular session on 'Won lay, the

We, the undersigned Freeholders in the County of Harnett, consisting one- fourbh of the Free-
holders in the nropseddepecial school district included within the following boundaries, to -wit::
Beginning at Hector's Creek in Challybeate Strings diebtiet and following the road to S. H;
Senter's place; thence up the road to corner of S. F. Arnold's line; thence as his line goes until
it strikes Rollin's line; thende as this line to the head of §urt'e Mill Pond;'thence ur tre Creek
to Fuquay district's line; thence with this line to Hector's reek; thence down this creek to the
beginning respectfully petition your honorable Board for an election to ascertain the will of the
people within the proposed special schdol district, whether there shall be levied in said district
a special annual tax of not more than 30 cents on the one hundred dol-ars valuation of property and
90 cents on the poll, to supplement the Public School Fund which may be apportioned
to said district by the County Board of Education incase such tax is voted.

Ordered by Board of Commissioners, authority the Acting Chmn. J. C. Byrd, with State pighway
Commission necessary application for the building of Road Prodget through the County. Harnett
County porpotion of cost be bounded by the township, which the road runs in accordance with
agreements heretofore filed by this board.

Whereas the sentiment of the tax payers of Coate School Die trict of uarnett County, H. C, ap-
pears to be favorable to an issue of Bonds for the purpose of building a suitable schoolhouse
for said District..
now therefore, we, the Board-of Xduoation for HarnettCounty, North Carolina, do hereby
petition the Board of CountyCommissioners of said County to order a election for the purpose _
of submitting-to the qualified voters of said District the question of issuing $15,000.00 in
bonds, to run .for a period of 20 years and to bear interest at 6% per annum payable semi -annu-
ally, and for the purpose of providing for a tax levy to provide for the payment of the inter-
est on said bonds and a sinking fund for the principal thereof, said tax not to exceed the limit
provided in the Act hereinafter mentioned. Said bonds to be issued by authority of and In accordance
with the provisions of Chap-ter 55 of the Public Laws of 1915 and amendments thereto.
Done by order of the Board of ]Education for said county in its regular meeting held on this
the 7th day of July, 1919..
