We, the undersigned, Registrar and Judges of Xlection, do hereby certify that at an elec-
tion held at Coats, North Carolina, on the 12th. day of October, 1920, for the purpose
of submitting; to the qualified voters of Coats School District the question of issuing ixx"s
ixxxk)uMxxmzxxaf Thirty Thousand Dollars in Bonds to build a school house for saA.d Dis-
trict, there were Ninety Four (94) cast "For Schoolhouse Bonds" and Seventeen votes cast.
"Against Schoolhouse Bonds" and thirty four of the registered voters not voting. That there
was a total registration, for said election of One Hundred(145).

Resolution of Harnett County Board of Education, autbrizing advettisament and sale of
$30,000.00 Coats School District Bonds.
Whereas the bends authorized by an election held for Coats School District at Coats,North Car-
olina, onthe 12th, day of October, 1920, inthe sum of Tffitrty Thousand Dollars in accordance
with the provisions of a Public Local dot passed by the General Assembly of North Carolina, at
its special session held in August, 1920, it being House Bill #140, and senate Bill #199, rat=
ified on the.20th. day of August, 1920, has been authorized to be issued xssxxtk3m by
the Board of Cbunty Commissioners of Harnett County, North Carolina, at a call meeting, d
duly called and held on the 18th. day of 0 ctober, 1920:
Now, Therefore, we, the Board of Education of Harnett County do hereby older said bonds
to be offered for ^ale by sealedbid to the highest acceptable bidder for cash, on the 19th.
day of October, 1920, at 12 O'Clock, Id.,at the office of L.L. Levinson, attorney, Coats, N.C.
after first .advertising said sale for four weeks, beginning on the 21st. day of October
1920, in the Harnett County News, a newspaper published at Lillington, Harnett County,North
Carolina.
It is further ordered that the acceptable bidder shall immAdiately upon the acceptance
of his bid, deposit with t} -e Board of Education of Harnett County, a certified check in
the sum of. Five Hundred Dollars, made payable to said Board, as an evidence of the goon
faith of the bidder. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids without assignment
of cause.
This resolution introdauced,seconded and unanimously passed at a call meeting, duly call-
ed and held, of the Board. of Education of Harnett County, held this the 18th. days of Oct.
1920.

The report of J.7. 'Parrish, registrar, and H.A. Matthews and J.r. LTnk, Judges of
Election, heretofore appointed to hold and election in Coatga ScY,00l District for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of Coats School. District the question of
issuing bonds in the sum of Thirty Thbusand Dollars to ^ontrunt a school house for said

District in accordance with the provisions of a Public Local Act passed by the Special Session
of the General Assembly of North Carolina, held in August, 1920, being House Bill x'140,
and Senate Bill X199, entitled, "An Act to perrait Townships and School District in Harnett
County to is#& bonds to build School Houses" having been filed with this board at. a call
meetingon the' day of October, 1920, and continued for consideration until this day; upon
consideration` said report, this Board in its capacity as acanvassing Board finds the follow-
ing facts, to
1. T`jat said election was duly called and advertised as by law provided and in accor-
dance with the previous orders ofthis Board.
2. That said election was held on the 12th.day of- "ctober, 1920, and in all resrects
conductedgs by law provided.
3. That the- total number of qualifies; voters in said School District on the day of
election was One Hundred Forty Five (145)
4. That the Total N mber of -votes cast " For Schoolhouse Boan$S" was Ninety Four(04)
5. That the total number of votes cast "Againat Schoolhouse Bonds "was Seventeen(17).
�. TYat the total number of registered voters hot voting was "thirty four(34).
And Whereasaµ The Board of Education of Barnett County have requested and authorized this
;Poard" to issa�e the said Thirty 'Thousand Dollars in Bonds nott of One "thousand Dollars
denomination, bearing interest at the rate of si -x per cent per annum, payable semi - annually
on the let. day of May and November in each year, I and due and payable on the let.
day of Novermber, 1940, in accordance with the previsions of the Public Local Act herein -
before referred to.
WHEREFORE, it is considered, adjudged and hereby declared that the proposed bond issue
received the approval of the majority of the qualified voters of said School District; that
this Board does hereby authorize the issuance of the 'hirty Thousand Dollars bonds and the
delivery of the same to the Board of Education of this County for the purpose of star sake
as in said act, provided; It i> further ordered that said bonds .shall run for a period
of twenty ;;ears from Nov. 1st. 1920, and bear intetest at the rate of six per cent
per annum, payable semi - annually on the last days of ?Say and November in Pach year,both
principal and. interest payable at ..Tew York City bank to be selected by the purchasers;
said bonds to be in denomination -f One Thousand Dollars each, and the said bonds and
interest are declared to bpi a valid lien upon the property of said Coatd ,School District;
and this Board hereby obligates itself and its successors in office to levy and cause to
be coll:cted in the said School District a sufficient tax to pay the interest on th e
said bonds and privide for a sinking fund for the payfiaent cf the principal thereof, when
due.
Upon motion of Cprmtissioner, 1,1. J.Ivlc Stewart, seconded by Commissioner, T:.T. Johnsoh,
the above resolution was ordered adopted and spread upon the minutes. Those voting in the
affirmative being Co,m :iissioners, Steirarr, Johnson, Byrd, Bay and Barnes; those voting in the
negative, being none.

WHereasI Coats School District, did, on the l2th, day of October, 1520, carry, an election
for the issuance of thirty thousand dollars in bonds for the purpose of constructing a
schoolhouse-for said District.
Now, wherefore, in pursuance of authority con °erred by House Bill No 140, enate Bill
#199, of •the Special .ession of the ;enerul Assembly of North Carolina,- -held in Autust,
19201 the Board of Education of Harnett County, North Carolina, do hereby request the
Honorable hoard of County CotaTlissioners of Harnett County to issue Tlbrty Thousand Dollars

fully petition your Honorable Board to call an election in said Township for the purpose
