HomeMy WebLinkAbout12181922r) �% MEETING OF`COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DECETMER 18TH. 1922. County Commissioners met in call session, present, Jas. A. Taylor, Chairman,Jas. A. Buchanan, V;.J McStewart, M.ff. McNAill and E.F.YOung, Attorney. Ordered that A.H.Harper he appointed Constaple for Duke Townshipx for two years, Bond filed and sworn in. Voucher 143 above covering interest on $10,000.00 for 30 days ordered issued. Tie Board of County Commissioners and Board of Education in joint session for the purpose of adjusting the school fund and the general county fund for the year 1921. The audit for the school fund for the year was presented to the Boards and the chairman and County Commissioners, Mr.Taylor, the Attorney, Mr. Young and County Supt. were named a committees to examine the facts and report at a meeting of the t*w boards the first monday in January. It was decided that the State Law regarding the matter of turning over the tax money collected by the Sheriff to the differe6t funds to be followed: It was suggested, and the suggestion agreed to, that the Sheriff be requested to turn over to the General School fund each Monday morning the pro rata part of the taxes dollected each week. The authority to borrow not exceeding $15000.00 to assist in paying the running expenses of th C the sehoolxtxxtx until the first of the year, was given to the Charisan and Seeretary of the Board of Education. The commissioners named M.J. McNeill a committe of one to see that the foot bridge across Barbecue Creek leading towards Aircastle school was put in repair at once.
