Upon report of J -s. A. Taylor, Chairman, of the final settlement made by State Highway
Commissional for funds loaned to it for the purpose of building the LaFayette Highway
through Harnett County it is ordered that said report be approved and filed of record. \/
Cn the reportof Clifford and Townsend, Attys. in settlement of the Highway Iron Pro-
ducts Cc, suit, it appears that they have collected the sum of $1587.50 and after deducting
X400.00 as fees turned over to the county check for V1187.50.
9rdered that F.W. Jernigan of Averasboro Township be relieved of paying Poll tax per-
manently. He being afflicted and was recommended by Jas. 1.. Tgrylor.
Ordered that Mine Camp see Mrs. Harriet Coats and report the next meeting. Lives in
Lillington Township.
Moved and seconded that allow to J.A. Hughes and wife, as paupers, $12.50 per month. Iits
Camp to get order.

In the matter of taxes due by Parker Bros.). Resolution to Relkase tax lien upon payment of
on Residence lot in Lillington. ).t Pro -rata taxes due on said Lot.
It.having been made to appear to the Board that Parker Bros. have failed to pay taxes to
the County for the ears 1920, 1921, 1922 and 1923,1 that they listed for taxation for these
sevexal years a sumber of tractsof land in Lillington Township and among them the lot here-
inafter described, and that the tax receopts made out by the said County for these resepe-
tice years embrace all of said property; and it having been made to appear to the satisfaction
66 the Biard that the prorat a part of these taxes due by the specific piece of property
described below, worked out according.to the valuation of said piece or property and the tax
rates for the prix re pective years, together with penalties, is as follows:

piece.of property together with penalties is $372.91 and it appearing to the Court that WG
Mordecai hale paid over to E.F.Y ung, County Attorney, fit the benefit of the County and for
application on taxes due by Parker Brothers for the years 1920, 1921 , 1922 and 1923 the
sim of $293.71 being the total penalties due plus penalties for the respective years as shown
In above statement; and it further appearing that said U.G. Mordecai has paid to HIA. Turf tngO
ton, fax COk ljectcr, for application on taxes due by Parker Bros. for the year 1924, the sum
of $79.80.
Be it resolved therefore that the County's lien upon the following lot cn account of

A RESOLUTION.
Whereas the Board of Education of t'arnett County has this day passed a resolution
authorizing its chairman and.secretary to make application for a loan in the sum of $25000.0
from the State Specila Building Pund for the purpose of completeimg and equpping necessary
shhool buildings in and for Duke School.Dis:ric$ Number 1, a copy of which resolution is
hereto attached and made a part hereof;
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County.
That -said action of the Board of Education be and the same is hereby approved and
that the chairman and secetary of this board be authorized to execute the apporval of
this boatd to said aplication; resolved further that in the event of said application shall
be denied in whole or in part that the Board of Commissioners will upon appli ation of the
Board of Education supply said funds-when needed, not earlier than April3L,1925.

Moved and seccned that J C -0etts lands be rediced to $34.00 per acre. This motion was
carried at Meeting in Nuly, 1924, but by error was not entered on minutes. Ordered that Auditor
allow ILr. Bells a rebate on taxes for 1924 to correspond with reduction.
Moved and seconded that B Warren be released of all penalites on back taxes as he is

NORTECAROLINA, HARNETT COUNTY.
Thiel agreement, made and entered into this the 6th. day of October, 1924, by and between
the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County, of the first part add J P Parker of the second part.
WITNESSLTH: That whereas, a contract was made with the said J P Parker as Superintendant
of the County Home for the year 1924, and t.e said Parker has filled said position for the past
year as such Superintendant and desires to renew his contract for the year 1925.
Now, therefore, it is agreement between the parties hereto that the said J P Parker be and he
is hereby employed as % perintendant of the County Home of Harnett County for the year 1925
an the some terms and conditions as his contract sets out for the year 1924.
