The Bid of The Hanohett Bond Company was accepted with a premium of $1215.89 :,notes were cast as follows: Aye; McNeill, Stewart and Taylor, Chairman. No; None. Moved and seconded that proceeds of Bond sale be deposited in lat. National Bank of Dunn, N.C. . REPORT OF ELECTION Long Branch School Listrict, Harnett County. June 17th. 1924. We the undersigned election officers for above mentioned election, duly elected, qualified and acting, do hereby certify: l/ That a new registration was had for the pmepsxsxmtxMw said election, and the undersigned bookds in said District between the hours of 9:00,A.M. and sunset on each day from ay 17th. 19.4, to June 7,1924, inclusive, Sundays excepted, and the said bookde were clos ed for registration at sunset and the last date given, that the said Regustrar did attend with said books at the above mentioned polling place in said District on each Saturday during said registration period from 9:00 A.11. to sunset, and did attend at said poling place on the Saturday preceeding said election for the purpose of hearing challenges of any persons registered, and the total huu-,ber of persons registered for said election was 108. 2. That the undersigned election officers did hold the election at the pol$lss place and on the date above given, and did keep the polls open on said election date from sunrise to suueet, and no longer, and the ballots cast in said election were as follows: For issuance of $30000.00 School Bonds and the levying of a tax for the payment thereof: 76 A inst the issuance of $30000.00 School Bonds and the levying of a tax for the paymenrthereof: None 3. That said election was held at Long Branch School House in the sr.id District whi h is generally known as the usual polling place in said District. 4. At the close of the polls, we the undersigned officers, did then and there canvass the ballots cast with the results as above mentioned, and do hereby make this return to be filed with the Board of County Commissioners, qnd do sign this Report on this the date of said elec- tionas above given. V6Neil1,W.J.Mc Stewart, Absent:noneli The following bid* were received for the $30000.00 of 6.% School Building Bonds of the Bong Branch School District in accordance with the advertisement, each bid including also accrued interest in addition to: The following resolution was introduced and read to the Board: RESOLUTION Be it resolved by the Board of Commissioners of Harnett County: 1. That the highest and best bid received for the $30000.00 of6% School Building bonds of t the Long Branch School District this day offered for sale, is the bid submi.ted by The Hanchett Bond Company, offering 2xxx $31215.89 and accatned interest to date of delivery, and said bid it hereby accepted and the said bonds are hereby prdered to be duly executed, issued and delivered to said purchaser on compliance with the terms of said bid as stated. 2. That we have rec ived a report of election in proper form and signed by the election officers, duly appointed and qualified for the special election in the Long Branch School District, showing that a new registration was held for said election and the total numb45 of votes registered was 108; and that the election was properly held on the 17th. day of June, 1924 and 76 atzs ballots were cast for the issuance of $30000.00 School bonds and the levying of a tax for the payment lBereof, and none ballots were cast against the issuance of 130000.00 School Bonds, and the 1 vying of a tax for the payment thereof; and we do hereby approve the said report and do judicially pass upon the returns of the said election and do determine and declare the said election carried in favor of the issuance of $30,000.00 School Bonds, and the levying of a tax fdr the payment thereof. 3. That we do hereby approve the notice of the election and new registration, as same were published in the Harnett County News and we do determine and declare that the said notice was duly authorised by this Board an the notice of election and new registration as required by law. 4. That the advertisement of the sale of saind bonds in the harnett County News and the Greens. boro Daily News,is hereby approved, the Greensboro Daily News being determined a proper financial or trade journal in which to publish the said Notice of Sale. 5. Chairman On motion of J. A. Buchanan, seconded by M. J. McNeill, the foregoing resolution was adapted by the following roll call vote: J. A. Taylor, aye; J. C. Senter, stye; M. J. McNeill aye, J. W. Mc Stewart, Aye; The following alterations were made in values of real estate on the 29th. of July. Ordered that 96 acres of land listed by J.B.Moore(col) in U.L.River Township be reduced to $50.00 per acre. Ordered that 7 acres of land in U.L.River Township, listed by L.F.Mocretcol) be reduced to $50.00 per acre. Ordered that House and Lot of H.B.Taylor in Averasborq Township be re uced J= from $1900.00 t! $3000.00 Ordered that Residence of J.R.Young in Averasborc Township be reduced from $3500.00 to $3000.00. Jackson Ordered that 48 acres listed by L.W.2zzx1gax in Barbecue Township be reduced Aix from $48.00 to $20.00 per acre. Ordered that land listed as Highland Farm be raised to $25.00 per acre, Ordered that land listed as Never Fail Farms be raised to $25.00 per acre. Ordered that Land listed by W.L.Senter be reduced to $55.00 per acre. It was ordered by the Commissioners that the amount due($427.09) Neills Creek Road Commission be paid. The Bommissioners then adjourned until the first Yonday in August, 1924. Know all men by these presents that the County of "arnett, State of North Carolina, is justly indebted and for value received hereby promises to pay to Bearer the principal sum of ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS on the first day of July,19 with interest thereon at the rate of six per centum per annum, payable semi - annually on the first day of July and the first day of January of each year from taxes levied exclusively Yarx in Long Branch school District, upon presentat on and surrender of the annexed interest coupons as they severally dall due. Both principal and interest of this 'fond are payable in gold coin of the United States of Amarica 1x of the present standard of weight o" fineness at the Hanover National Bank inthe City of New York. Tkie bond is one of thirty bonds of like date and amount and tenor, exvept as to matureties nui.bered eonsecutetely, from (1) to (30) issued under the authority of and in full compliance wi with the Constition and Laws of North Carolina, with particular reference to Chapter 136,North Carolina public Laws of 1923, and for the purpose of acquiring, erecting, enlarging, altering and equipping school buildings and purchasing sites therefor in Long Branch School District in said county as set forth in said law, and is registerable as to principal. It is hereby certified iota and recited that all acts, conditions and things required to be done, happened, exist, precedent to and in the issuance of this bond, have been done, have happen ed and do exist as requited by the Constition and Laws of the State of North Carolina; that provision has been made for the levy and collection of an annual tax on all taxable property within the said School District sufficient to pay the interest hereon and principal ]thereof as the same fall due, and that the total indebtedness of the same does not exceed any constitutional or statutory limitation.
